Humans are strange beings.
My blog is hosted on a platform called WordPress. It has a dashboard that gives lots of statistics on how many people have clicked on various posts, what social media channels referred them to your site, that sort of thing.
It also tells you the weird and wonderful Google searches people have typed in that brought them to your site.
Yesterday’s winner: “Was Steve Irwin circumcised?”
Why the flipping heck do they want to know that? Why do they care about the answer? What made Google think HouseGoesHome might know?
I dunno. It’s s mystery, wrapped in an enigma.
Anyways … In other WordPress news, my work website – Drinks Trade – is now on the same platform. Despite my familiarity with its back end – that sounds a bit rude – I had a nightmare time getting it ready yesterday. My jaw is soooooo sore from all the stress clenching.
You can check it out by clicking here.
Some of my favourite headlines are are:

As I always say, you can take the girl out of the tabloid, but you can’t take the tabloid out of the girl … or middle-aged woman …
You CAN however, take the short-term memory out of her.
I was supposed to bake a cake last night for the youngest’s birthday sleepover. I bought all the ingredients on my way to the office yesterday and put the cold stuff in the work fridge … of course I forgot it in the midst of the website-related panic.
Since I “work” from home on Fridays … thank you ad bloke for your skepticism ..: I’ll have to buy everything again on my way to school drop-off this morning. Grrrr.
The youngest has requested a cake like this:
Looks pretty easy … Fingers crossed …
I’ll let you know how it went on Monday.
Have an awesome weekend.
Song of the day: U2 “The sweetest thing”
Well, everyone at work is going to love you on Monday. A fridge full of lollies.
Sooooo many lollies and cakes and brownies and cookies EVERYWHERE. And so little self restraint
For future information – https://raffaelsbakery.com.au/ – great cakes delivered to your door and I can attest to their yumminess.
Thanks for the tip Merlin!
Well done on getting the website done, I’ll check it out. I think the giant cucumber getting into a pickle headline is my fave!
I too have done the “left the perishables in the fridge at work” thing. I’m sure you did a great job on the cake, looking forward to the pics.
The cucumber made me laugh out loud
