Pile ’em up, up, up

Sooooo, I made a big mistake yesterday.

I did my tax return.

Doing my tax return should be a good thing, right? But it turns out I owe the government $1800 … which isn’t great news when you’ve just spent $3000 saving your dog’s life.

Dammit.

Oh, and my car rego and insurance and other vastly expensive associated stuff is due. I am going to be sooooooo broke in the lead-up to Christmas.

Money, money, money, must be funny, in a rich man’s world. Oh, ohhhhhh, all the things I would do … if I had a little money …

Actually, what I would do if I had a little money is fix up my house. I’d build a deck and get a nice garden and turn my bedroom into a “master suite” with its own bathroom so I don’t have to lose my voice yelling at the eldest through the locked door of the current lone one, begging her to hurry up.

But I can’t see that ever happening because there are SO MANY BILLS AND THEY NEVER STOP.

I really don’t know how actually skint people cope when pseudo skint people like me are freaking out.

In other news, the lab results came back for Charlie the Moodle and the vet said it was very strange. It seems the damage to his insides was done around 10 to 14 days before the biopsy. It’s hard to know how it happened because I was away for most of that time. The vet said there’s a chance it was the tablets he started taking when he had his skin problems the day I went to Queensland, or possibly something he caught or ingested just before that.

Blah.

She said if he’s lively and eating he should be OK, but they will need to be very careful with his medication if he should relapse at any stage because his system is so delicate.

Poor puffum wuffums.

What would you do if you had a little money?

  1. I have been meaning to sympathise with you over this entire situation. Poor little puppy. I hope he recovers very quickly. It’s amazing it doesn’t happen more often with the outrageous things they eat.

Are you sure you aren’t missing some major deduction you can add to your tax submission? Think, Alana, think!
Mind you, don’t you get a bit of time before you have to pay it?
