Doing the research for this round-up of 10 couples who love their pets so much they put them in the bridal party made my day. It was inspired by me spotting the first couple in my Facebook feed. People are so awesome, aren’t they?

Elise and Dick are big fans of Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Battlestar Galactica … and their pet guinea pig Amadeus. They wove all their obsessions into their wedding, including decorating the reception venue in Lannister red and yellow, hanging banners with iconography from the films and TV shows, and using blue and purple dragons as tabletop decor. Elise even donned a knee-length Lannister red wedding gown. They shared pics from the big day with Offbeat Bride.

Well of course the sheep are coming to the wedding … This couple appeared in an issue of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Enter If You Dare when shepherdess Louise Fairburn from Lincolnshire, England, got married in a wedding dress made of wool from one of her own flock. Her Husband Ian wore a woollen waistcoat made from the same sheep. The dress took 120 hours to make. Louise, who even carried a Bo Peep-style crook on her big day, loves her sheep so much that they featured in her wedding photos.

Did your pet go to your wedding?

I love the couple on horseback. Very romantic. But I think my favourite was the first one. I’ve never credited guinea pigs with much personality but Amadeus looks like he might be a bit of a live wire!
He looked very spiffy in his bow tie
No pets at the wedding, heck we didn’t even allow children. Loved these those, all apart from the snake!
I love that you can Google “pet snake at wedding” and get results …
