I spent Friday night packing my suitcase. I’d been meaning to do it earlier, but life and a virus got in the way.
I am sooooo excited about the thing I’m packing for. It involves someone making my bed every morning, feeding me three times a day, doing my washing and taking me on daily adventures.
I know it sounds a bit like a nursing home … but it’s not.
I’m not leaving until the end of this week, but I am busy, busy, busy until then with prep. My nails and roots have been done, but I still need to get my eyelashes tinted, my eyebrows waxed and tinted, my bikini line waxed and the dogs groomed.
As per usual, I will save the big reveal for when I land and next week’s blogging will resume depending on wifi and available time.
Packing wasn’t the only thing that was done over the weekend.
There was a lot of languishing around feeling limp, snotty and exhausted.
DD explained to me that when your body fights a virus, immune cells release signaling proteins called cytokines that travel to the brain and trigger neuroinflammation that forces you to rest and heal.
So I tried to do that in between getting my roots done and meeting DD’s ex-work wife for tacos on Saturday night.
But there was no time to rest on Sunday because I had tickets to Red Hot Summer in Manly.

This year’s line-up for the tour includes Australian Crawl, Men at Work and Boom Crash Opera – what’s not to like!

The bloody cytokines were still playing havoc with my body, so I spent a lot more time than usual slouched in a camp chair rather than shoving my way to the front of the stage.
But I had a fabulous time dancing like a dervish to Boom Crash Opera in the blistering afternoon sun. They are legends. Dale Ryder still sings like an angel at age 71.
We were a bit nervous that the whole thing was going to be called off when an electrical storm swept through, but fortunately they just shut down Birds of Tokyo’s set and booted back up again for Men at Work about 30 minutes later.

It was a bulk fun day. I got to see Men at Work live for the first time time, singing the iconic “Down Under” and I never get tired of hearing James Reyne belt out “Boys Light Up”.
DD did the mosh pit for Men at Work, then I threw myself in there for Australian Crawl.
I was soooooo tired when I finally crawled into bed at 11pm.
And I’m off to the office today via the ear vacuuming clinic. The dogs will be very annoyed to see me disappear again after I abandoned them for 10 hours yesterday.
Song of the day: Men at Work “Down Under”
