Knowing your limits

It’s been a crazy whirl in HouseGoesHome world this year. Quiet weekends have been few and far between and I’ve realised I really need one.

I’m heading north on the freeway again this weekend and the next.

I was obsessively researching getaways for Mother’s Day when the revelation hit me that it was a bridge too far.

The youngest works every weekend, so I rarely see her and I miss her very much. I thought booking something near her workplace would be a good way to see her for breakfast and dinner each day.

But, while doing a deep dive into pet-friendly listings on Air BnB, I decided another weekend away from home was madness.

I need to stop and breathe. The weekend away will have to wait.

I still haven’t fully recovered from my stomach virus over Easter. I’m continuing to battle fatigue, headaches and nausea. My body is telling me to slow down.

So I will get through the next two weekends of travel and then I will stop for a few days.

That said, bulk fun is on the cards during my upcoming adventures. I can’t wait to tell you all the details!

Song of the day: REM “Try not to breathe”
