Did you know the dates for Easter/Anzac Day next year are so close that if you apply for three days annual leave you can have 10 days off?
Easter Sunday is super late in 2025. Why? Google informs me it’s because it is determined by the Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal (or spring) equinox. For example, in 2025, the vernal equinox is on 20 March and the following full moon is on 13 April. So Easter Sunday is on 20 April.
That means Good Friday is on 18 April … with Easter Monday being a public holiday, followed three days later by Anzac Day on 25 April.
But don’t tell anyone … it can be our little secret until we get our annual leave approved.
A co-worker informed me about this exciting fact yesterday and I have been in a lather ever since trying to decide where I can go that won’t have jacked its prices up to the heavens.
I expect everywhere will have jacked their prices up to the heavens, so I will probably be marking Easter and Anzac Day in a respectful manner at home.
Other than that buzzy news, yesterday was pretty uneventful.

Although I did make a delicious spinach pesto spaghetti dish from my Recipe TinEats cookbook. I added a chunk of Meredith Goat’s Cheese and a little chilli oil to the mix.
Nom nom!
Song of the day: Kermit the Frog “It’s not easy being green”
just saw something on the news where this was this great scene, everyone celebrating Easter and Ramadan with a huge meal with tables and chairs on a main street and sharing…..so cool. more people around the planet should…2025?
Thanks for the tip! Now the trick is to apply for annual leave before everyone else in the office!
