Guess what? There’s a new social media handle that you can follow me on. I’ve kicked off the Destination NSW Instagram page.
You can find it here.
I’m having lots of fun searching for photos to share from Destination NSW Content Library, which is filled with more than 30,000 images for me to choose from.
I’ve only posted three photos so far and I’m still finding my feet in terms of what the audience likes – the account has more than 27,000 legacy followers – and when they want to see stuff.
But I am very fond of a challenge, so I’m excited about what lies ahead.
It’s one of the few places worth following me at the moment as most of my other social media channels are fairly fallow.
There simply aren’t enough hours in my day. Last night I got home from work via the supermarket, made dinner, wrote a couple of Drinks Digest stories, walked the dogs, packed the dishwasher and it was time for bed.
I would love to rev up The Thirsty Travellers website again and do more on social media for Drinks Digest, but I have to be realistic.
So I blog at HouseGoesHome from Monday to Friday and stick to putting out a weekly Drinks Digest newsletter because that’s my largest source of traffic for the site. The rest is a nice to have.
Fortunately I get my social media “likes” jollies in my day job and get paid for it.
Speaking of which, I’d better get cracking on my Wednesday work tasks, which include reporting on the open rates for my Insights newsletters, increases in followers on LinkedIn and other metrics.
It’s a long way from my days at gossip magazines, reluctantly tracking celebrity cellulite.
Song of the day: U2 “I will follow”
