I don’t want to speak too soon, but I may be starting a new job on Monday.
Just for six months, a contracting gig. But it’s with an exciting organisation that reckons it’s couriering me a laptop in the next few days.
Sounds promising, right?
I am a bit freaked out about starting a full-time job, as I have a lot on between now and Christmas. But the offer came out of the blue – I wasn’t expecting to be juggling 50 million alcohol industry Christmas functions, a second year 10 formal and various other commitments.
I had also been hitting my stride with my freelancing business – I have about five regular clients now – so it was a surprise when an offer landed that I couldn’t refuse.
I don’t want to jinx things just yet, as there are still a few hurdles to clear, but I think it’s actually happening. It’s bizarre how life throws curve balls like that.

In other news, one of my clients who is running for local council asked me to drop into a meet and greet he was holding last night at a bar, so I figured a glass of rose was in order. Do you like my arty shot with bonus plastic crab?

OK, gotta run, I’m off to a boozeless breakfast to celebrate the launch of Lyre’s new non-alcoholic sparkling wine at The Boathouse Rose Bay, which will also include an “immersive journey through some of your favourite cocktails without the booze”.
Even though they’re booze free it will feel pretty wacky to be drinking cocktails at brekkie!
