I was playing catch up a bit with my celebrity news this week. I missed the finale of The Bachelor because I went to see Book of Mormon.
How on earth was I unaware that female circumcision was a major plotline in the musical? Fortunately I’d ordered a large glass of Houghton chardy before I went in.
I have to admit I’m obsessed with the Honey Badger’s love life.
I even dissected it at the hairdresser, which was a bit embarrassing as there a “I went to MONA last weekend” kinda vibe there.
Talking about The Bachelor is very low rent by comparison … but I couldn’t help myself …
Rumours continue to swirl that Cass Wood and Nick Cummins are an item.
Both were conveniently out of the country after the finale. She’s in Bali, he’s on the Kokoda Trail, so they can’t be tracked down for comment.
Cass posted a pic of herself with the two finalists on her Instagram with the caption: “My two soulmates from day 1. Love you both to the moon and back ❤️ #womensupportingwomen #bestfriends.”
However she didn’t tag the two women and Daily Mail reported she’s unfollowed them both.
I haven’t fact checked that but if it’s true oooo-er!
I published a report a few weeks ago that Cass was spotted with an engagement ring at the University of Woollongong’s UniBar as she attended the gig of her model/DJ friend, Tori Levett.
Here’s the blurry “proof”:
She’s also been posting some seriously scanty swimsuit shots on Instagram, like this one …
Lordy! She seemed so shy on the show …
Anyways, another “sign” she’s said “yes” to the Honey Badger came when she appeared on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa on October 3.
In response to speculation she is secretly dating Nick she replied: “No, no, there’s a lot of fake news and I believe he’s with the winner and having a happy life.”
Clearly he isn’t with the winner. I smell a furphy.
Gwyneth Paltrow has married her boyfriend, American Horror Story co-creator Brad Falchuk, in a small, intimate ceremony attended by the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden, Steven Spielberg, Kate Capshaw, Rob Lowe and Jerry Seinfeld.
Prior to the big day, Jerry Seinfeld hosted an intimate rehearsal dinner at his home. The party even included a five-minute stand-up routine by the comedian.
And on the big day, Steven Spielberg acted as “unofficial videographer.” As you do.
The actual wedding ceremony was held in the backyard of Paltrow’s home in the Hamptons. Afterwards, she posted a photo of the couple’s rings on Instagram (above).
Gwyneth’s mum Blythe Danner said: “It was gorgeous. It was the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever seen.”
Red Symons tragically lost his 27-year-old son Samuel this week to an aggressive brain tumour.
It reoccurred after he beat the disease at age 4.
“It is with the deepest sadness Red announces the passing of his beautiful son Samuel Symons,” a statement from 3AW said.
(Symons was announced as a regular on the Neil Mitchell program after being dumped as host of ABC Melbourne’s breakfast radio show in November after more than 15 years.)
“Samuel passed away peacefully overnight surrounded by his family. We ask that you please respect the privacy of Red and his family at this very sad and difficult time.”
Elly Symons, Samuel’s mum, called her son a “shining example to us all” in a moving tribute.
“It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our son and brother Samuel Peter Symons.
“The courage and strength he displayed over 23 years was simply inspirational. His dignified humility in the face of adversity was a lesson to us all. Rather than complain, he accepted his illnesses with humour, dignity and grace and continued to amaze us by achieving the unachievable. A shining example to us all.”
Kate Hudson has welcomed her third child, a daughter called Rani.
It’s her first bub with musician boyfriend Danny Fujikawa.
Hudson wrote on Instagram: “She’s here. We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa. Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honour. Everyone is doing well and happy as can be. Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back.”
Kate has two sons — Bingham, seven, whose father is Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, and 14-year-old Ryder Russell, whose dad is The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson.
Millionaire Bachelorette star Stu Laundy has confessed he used to steal flowers from graveyards to give to women on dates.
The publican, who is heir to a $400 million family fortune, made the confession to Sami Lukis on her podcast, Romantically Challenged.
“When I was a kid I didn’t live far from Rookwood cemetery, so that was always where I would drive through to get to work. I had free flowers basically.”
“What?” a shocked Lukis said. “You used to steal flowers from gravesites to give to girls you were dating?”
Laundy laughed and added there was one gravesite in particular he used to steal from.
“Mrs Smith, may she rest in peace,” he said. “She had a lot of visitors and always a lot of flowers.”
“Far out!” Lukis replied. “You’re a frickin’ tight-arse!”
“She was a popular lady, there were so many flowers,” Laundy continued. “I didn’t think Mrs Smith would notice them missing.”
Rachel Weisz, 48, and James Bond star Daniel Craig, 50, have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl.
The actress revealed her pregnancy to the New York Times in April, saying “I’ll be showing soon . . . Daniel and I are so happy. We’re going to have a little human. We can’t wait to meet him or her. It’s all such a mystery.”
This is the third time that the pair — who married in 2011 after having fallen in love on the set of Dream House — have become parents. Daniel shares daughter Ella with ex-wife Fiona Loudon, while Rachel shares 11-year-old son Henry with former partner Darren Aronofsky.
