Welcome to another week of quirky bits of celebrity news that caught my eye.
Blake Lively was slammed for objectifying men after appearing in a shoot with a naked boxer holdings a martini made with her husband’s Aviation Gin.
Reynolds bought Aviation Gin earlier this year.
While attracting criticism and being described as “disgusting” by some, the photograph received more than 1 million likes in its first four hours on Instagram.
Ermagerd, check out how much Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple has grown up. Gwyneth shared this pic of the pair to celebrate National Daughter’s Day, writing “Apple Martin, it’s like I conjured you from a dream, you make my life.”
Marcia Cross has revealed she is healthy after a recent battle with anal cancer.
“So grateful and happy to be alive but sad that my hair fell out and is about 1 inch long now and looks cra cra,” the Desperate Housewives star, 56, captioned an Instagram selfie of her short hair on September 15. “Anyone else have #hairloss due to #cancer? Talk to me. I feel you. Xxoo m❤️❤️❤️.”
The following day, Cross clarified that she is “post cancer” in a message to concerned fans.“I am so sorry my post wasn’t clear. I am POST cancer. All good now,” she wrote. “Hard journey, but I am HEALTHY, happy, and more present and grateful than ever. Thank you from the bottom of my ever expanding heart for all of your LOVE.”
I can’t believe Will Smith turned 50 last week. He looks so young!
To prove that age is just a number, he bungee jumped over the Grand Canyon — via a livestream so fans could watch.
He’s pictured above with his family … oh, and mid-air …
The soap opera community is mourning the loss of Frank Parker, who played Grandpa Shawn Brady on Days of Our Lives.
The veteran actor passed away due to complications of Parkinson’s disease and dementia, according to his obituary in The Reporter. He was 79.
He first broke onto the scene in the 60’s and 70’s, making appearances on soap operas General Hospital and The Young and the Restless — before landing the role as Shawn Brady on Days in 1983.
The actor remained on the daytime drama for 25 years. He retired in 2008 after his character died when he gave up his oxygen mask to save his son during an airplane hijacking.
Around that time, Parker’s health was reportedly beginning to decline, which caused him to give up acting for good.
Bill Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison after a long legal battle over sexual assault accusations.
“It is time for justice,” said Judge Steven O’Neill, who also fined the entertainer $35,000. “Mr Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The time has come.”
The former TV star was convicted on April 26 on three counts of aggravated indecent assault after drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in suburban Philadelphia in 2004.
O’Neill quoted from Constand’s statement, saying Cosby took her “beautiful, healthy young spirit and crushed it.”
The 81-year-old smiled and chatted with his defence team before he was led away in handcuffs.
Cosby burst out laughing in court moments after he was sentenced and was seen cracking jokes with his legal team.
But his mugshot told a different story, showing the disgraced star looking downcast.
Meghan Markle’s half sister Samantha caused a stir with her public threats to travel to London with her publicist.
“Samantha Markle is coming to the UK. After making numerous attempts in private to arrange a one on one meeting with The Duchess of Sussex to discuss their 74 year old father’s health, Kensington Palace have refused to respond (sic),” wrote Rob Cooper on Twitter.
“I fear Meghan may not be made aware of these discreet attempts and therefore making this public is the only option we have left. I currently have Samantha in Europe with just one short flight away.
“This DOESN’T need to be public, we would prefer to keep this private. Samantha is coming to the UK this week, like it or not.”
Bret McKenzie startled Flight of the Conchords fans by revealing he was an elf in Lord of the Rings.
McKenzie made the confession on Stephen Colbert’s talk show.
He was Lindir, friend to Lord Elrond. That’s the elf who tries to stop Liv Tyler running back to Aragorn.
Mind blown!
Colbert also has the NZ PM on the show this week, who confessed she unsuccessfully auditioned for a role in the movie.
With bill Cosby how have the mighty fallen. I hope Marcia Cross gets better.
I think he’s still in major denial.
