She won!

The youngest is pretty stoked: she’s the Pacific region winner of the CBRE Kids’ Christmas Card Design Competition.

She submitted a Santa drawing she did last year when she was 9, but she won as a 10-year-old.

Here it is:

The prize is a $100 gift voucher plus the honour of her name being mentioned on the card as the artist. She also gets 25 printed cards of her own to give to relatives and friends.

Art is more the eldest’s thing, but the competition was only open to kids aged 10 and under. The youngest has a creative streak, but doesn’t have the time – or inclination – to explore it because she’s too busy skipping.

My gawd, her abs are rock hard, which isn’t surprising since she spends four and a half hours a week practicing her speed, solo and double-dutch skills under the watchful eyes of her coaches.

I couldn’t skip for four and a half minutes … make that four and a half seconds …

Here are a few cool photos I’ve taken of her in action over the past few weeks as I wait for her to finish practice …

I also served up Tortilla Pie last night for dinner and it was DELICIOUS. Evil and full of countless preservatives … but DELICIOUS. The youngest even pronounced it “good” and she usually says everything is “not my favourite.”

The recipe link is below the pic.
