I never tire of gazing at the ocean and hearing the waves crash, so when DD invited friends up for Sunday lunch I suggested we do a bit of sightseeing while they were in the Northern Beaches ‘hood.
Top of my list was Barrenjoey Lighthouse, so we could combine viewing pleasure with hard yakka.
The walk up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse is short but brutal. DD was stoked to meet his personal trainer, The Sand Hill Warrior, in the carpark – it made him look very dedicated in his pursuit of fitness. The Sand Hill Warrior, or as his number plate says “SHW”, told me I had to send a pic of DD doing push-ups at the lighthouse.
No problemo, I take photos of everything these days, I’m obsessed.
When we got home from our walk and DD was looking through my shots, he wanted to know why there were all these pics of the back of his head. Because I LIKE the back of his head.
Well, I like all of him, he’s cute as.
While I type these words, he’s being smashed by the SHW on an early-morning 7km kayaking expedition. DD’s on a health kick and has been seeing the SHW once or twice a week for the past few months. I’m very impressed by his dedication.
DD’s friends loved the lighthouse walk, they couldn’t believe they’d been living in Sydney for so many years and never done it.
It also made everyone feel that little less guilty about gorging on caramel cheesecake when we got back to DD’s place.
Here are some happy snaps:
