Party pics: Doctor Who luau

A fun time was had by all the eldest’s 12th birthday party, which rocked a Doctor Who luau theme.

Confession: I’d totally forgotten the Doctor wore a lei in one episode, but the above image came in extremely handy for the invitations.

The weather was grey and overcast, but that didn’t bother the tweens in the slightest. They had a bulk fun time.

My ex entertained them with party games for the first hour, including transferring cotton balls (aka Adipose) blindfolded from bowls at opposite ends of the yard. Much giggling ensued.

Then it was time for Hawaiian pizza, nibbles and free play in my sister’s pool and spa.

We dragged kids out of the water briefly for Tardis-crash-lands-on-desert-island birthday cake and three hours were over in the (don’t) blink of an eye.

Here are some party pics …

Today, the eldest and I are off the the Doctor Who Festival as her birthday present. I’m counting on caffeine to get me through it.

Stand-by for more Doctor Who madness in the blog tomorrow.

Hope you’re having a great weekend.

I’d love to hear about it.

  1. WOW!! You are the most awesomest party organizer, ever!

I went to a 60th Birthday last night with a seated dinner for 25 people. A marinaded, seared and baked long beef fillet was the delicious star of the show, backed up by a baked and herbed HUGE salmon and really interesting salads.

Today I have organized lunch for 7 friends at The Groove Train, followed by James Bond in Spectre, at Village Southland. Two birds with one stone…perfect!

Hope Dr Who is a blast and Happy Birthday wishes to your eldest. šŸŽ‚šŸŽ‰šŸŽŠšŸ˜„

  2. Those party pics are fab. Looking forward to hearing about the Dr Who Festival. My son is recovering from a cold, having a quiet weekend. Doing some de-cluttering before our big move in January and watching Harry Potter on DVD.

  3. It looks like the party was a great success – go you !!!!!!
We spent too long on Saturday morning moving 750 bricks because we have to put in a stormwater pit just where the bricks were. Al moved the other 600 yesterday morning while I was sleeping before we went out to breakfast.
Can’t wait to hear how the Dr Who Festival went !!!
