So much for Feb Fast

small-bar

I fell off the Feb Fast wagon on Monday night. Damn, I’d been so good. But there are some dramas that call for pinot gris. And guacamole. And more pinot gris.

My sister – bless her – took me out to Small Bar for some much-needed sibling support. I swore I wasn’t going to overdo it, but man that first bottle went fast.

You’d think I’d know by age 45 that a second bottle is NEVER a good idea. EVER.

But no.

I tottered home a blithering mess, raved at Husband for a while and passed out in bed. Then I woke up with the dry horrors at 1am. Husband happened to be having a bout of insomnia – cruel when he’s obediently stayed on Feb Fast – so I repeated everything I’d said to him earlier (apparently).

And then I didn’t get back to sleep.

At 6.10am yesterday morning, Husband’s alarm went off and he started getting ready for work. I staggered downstairs and started making school lunches, drove the youngest to her first school band rehearsal at 7.30am, turned around and drove the eldest to school at 8.30am, then drove home for a feeling-sorry-for-my-self-inflicted-misery sob in bed.

And that’s about all I have in me for the blog today. Ripped off, huh?

  1. Maybe the guacamole is responsible for the dry horrors…clash of cultures with Pinot Gris?!

Yes, sibling support can be the best remedy for whatever ails you sometimes.
