Rihanna stands by her man … in court
Rihanna accompanied Chris Brown to court yesterday for the hearing to determine whether he’s compiled with the terms of his probation for assaulting her in 2009.
So romantic. Not.
Rihanna sat in the front row with his mother Joyce Hawkins. Some reports have her blowing her boyfriend a kiss.
Things got a bit messy when it was suggested in the courtroom that the five years of probation and six months of community service Brown had been sentenced to for the incident had not been completed. According to the DA, the paperwork Brown submitted to show he’d completed his community labor was “at best sloppy documentation and at worst fraudulent reporting” because Chris wasn’t even in town on some of the dates reported.
His lawyer said: “I’ve never had a client, and I’ve represented a wide breadth and thousands of clients, never ever had a client who has been tortured by a DA’s office on probation like Chris Brown has.”
It’s the second time Rihanna has appeared in court with Chris. The last time was in 2009 when her boyfriend was ordered to stay away from her …
Kim under fire
Kim Kardashian has been slammed for posting a photo of a gun on her Twitter account just weeks after pledging to stop gun violence.
On January 14, one month after the school shooting in Newtown, Conneticutt, she tweeted: “Today, people in Newtown are making the #sandyhookpromise to reduce gun violence. Sign the pledge with me athttp://www.sandyhookpromise.org ”.
Over the weekend, she posted a photo of a diamond-encrusted gun. She quickly deleted it after being lectured by fans.
It’s not the first time she’s expressed her love for firearms. In November, she shared a photo of herself shooting a gun with the caption “Bang bang.” In June, she posted a photo of a gun designed by YSL with the same caption.
Beyonce’s good deed
Following yesterday’s report that she’s demanded unflattering photos of herself be removed from the internet, Beyoncé has gone into damage control mode.
To prove she’s a all-round nice girl, she announced yesterday that tickets for her Mrs Carter World Tour would be accessibly priced, from as low as $45.
And to deflect suggestions she’s fussy about her facial expressions, she posed for a series of fun snapshots on her Instagram account with her Destiny’s Child bandmates.
Standing between Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, she made a series of silly faces in the pictures and captioned them ‘#myclique.’
Desexing the Grammys
Celebrities have been warned to cover up at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.
According to Deadline Hollywood, all attendees have been sent the following email: “CBS Program Practices advises that all talent appearing on camera please adhere to Network policy concerning wardrobe. Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible “puffy” bare skin exposure. Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts. Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared. OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST.”
So we’re thinking this outfit – above – worn by Pink for her 2010 performance at the awards wouldn’t make the cut.
Matt’s big Hollywood break
One for the Doctor Who fans (ok, me) … Matt Smith will make his Hollywood debut in Ryan Gosling‘s first outing as a writer/director, How to Catch a Monster. He’ll co-star with Christina Hendricks and Gosling’s real-life love Eva Mendes in the film, which will weave “fantasy noir, horror and suspense into a modern-day fairytale” about “the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city” and an underwater town.
