Clocking off

Just one working day to go and then I’m officially on holidays! Can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait!

It’s been quite the year, filled with middle-aged health dramas, the loss of my dad, hectic day-job stuff and the whirl of Drinks Digest.

I’m not getting any younger, but I haven’t made my peace with that yet. So I’m still going hell for leather every day.

The to-do list for my last day at work is epic and I couldn’t get it out of my head last night. Not much sleeping was done. Yawn.

Today will be a bit mad and my chest is already a bit tight in anticipation.

In between ticking off all my work chores, I need to squeeze in a handover with my neighbour (as I won’t be around to be the committee slave), a tradesman is coming to fix the broken security door and I’ve booked a major waxing session for my lunch break.

But very soon I will switch my out-of-office on, stop, take a breath and decompress.

I’ll touch base with you next week.

Have a fab weekend.

PS Ohhhhh damn! I just remembered I agreed to be on call for work on Saturday. So it’s not over yet. Sigh.

Song of the day: Dire Straits “Twisting by the pool”
