Have I mentioned there’s a mystery leak in the apartment block that’s turning our pathways into creeks and drizzling into the garage area?
I’ve had endless discussions with Mal the Plumber about it. He was convinced it was a groundwater problem. I was convinced it was a new tenant problem.
My suspicions were based on the leak getting much worse after a family of five moved into the ground floor apartment adjacent to our new creeks.
The apartment had previously been empty for a gazillion years. I thought that was too much of a coincidence.
Anyways, Mal called me yesterday and said they’d found the leak. It’s a burst pipe under the new tenant’s bathtub.
“Alana, I’m sorry, but we’re going to have to rip the whole bathroom out to fix it,” he solemnly announced. “And it will be at the body corporate’s expense.”
I had heart failure, then he confessed he was kidding. Ha, ha.
They just need to remove some external bricks, fix the pipe and Bob’s your less than $10,000 uncle … at the body corporate’s expense.
It never ends.
I celebrated the “good” news by drinking sangria in a can at a launch party in Martin Place, which was held at a fun bar called Cabana.

The drink is called Campo Viejo Sangria Spritz and it’s made with red wine, natural citrus flavours, gentle bubbles and subtle spices.
Australia is the first global market to try the product and I reckon it’s going to be a massive hit. It’s up there as one of the best alcoholic beverages I’ve tasted in a can.

They also had it on tap at the bar – which I think is a genius idea – so I enjoyed another one with ice and a slice of orange. Yum.

There were also lots of yummy nibbles circulating the room, including chicken skewers, potato croquettes and cups of paella.
I took my friend Mira along, who I met when she was doing PR for Endeavour Group. We haven’t seen each other forever and it was good to catch up and discuss her recent trip to Kangaroo Island where she swam with dolphins, so jealous! She’s also a snorkelling junkie like me, so we wistfully discussed islands we’d like to visit.
I also caught up with heaps of drinks industry mates and talked my head off.
Thank heavens its Friday because I need a rest.
Oh … except I’m not getting one because I’m off adventuring for a few days. DD is dog sitting for me. Bless him.
I will give you the lowdown next week. Have a good weekend!
