Look what’s hit the shelves!

I’m officially a two-time published author, with my new book, Melbourne Cocktails, on the shelves!

Let me know if you see it in your local bookstore.

I’ve written an article about it at Drinks Digest, which you can read here. I’ve also placed ads for the book on the website, which I got the publisher to design. The tower ad needs some serious colour correcting but it took months to get the current one so I’m not sure I can be bothered to complain.

I celebrated the book release by purchasing a skirt … and maybe a pair of sneakers (navy suede with silver stripes) … both on sale.

It is a bit shameful how much I love clothes. I actually did a happy dance in the bedroom when the skirt arrived. I literally felt giddy with joy when I opened the package.

The skirt is from a slightly kooky label called Boom Shanakar.

Most of Boom Shankar’s range does not suit my body shape at all, but I love all the vibrant colours.

I have a pressing and unfulfilled need to buy this magenta skirt …

But I have settled for the patterned one below, which I found on sale (despite swearing I was going to stick to solid colours moving forward to avoid my wardrobe dating too quickly) …

It matches perfectly with two jackets in my wardrobe and now I just have to wait for warmer weather to pair them up.

Yesterday’s weather conditions were terrible.

I was drenched by the time I battled my way home from the office.

But the apartment was toasty warm when I arrived and eldest cooked me a chicken burger for dinner, which was lovely. And stacked the dishwasher! I will be very sad when I’m an empty nester again … only a few days to go. Sigh.

I’ve woken this morning to the most scary cyclonic winds. I’m a bit worried the dogs and I will be swept away when we venture outside. I can hear my neighbour Jenny’s outdoor furniture trying to launch itself from the rooftop above my bedroom.

I hope you and your home survived the night OK.
