Checking in

The House Hotel was at capacity again last night. My sister’s Newie bestie checked out, my sister checked in and the eldest’s extended stay continued.

(The cuties in the main pic are my sister and her Newie bestie waaaaaaay back in the preschool years of their friendship. Isn’t it awesome when you have relationships that go back that far? Mind you, I’m still friends with Megz, who played a starring role in one of my earliest memories on the sole day we went to preschool together.)

I cooked steak for dinner with blue cheese sauce, sweet potato fries and roasted broccolini. Nom, nom.

My sister brought a bottle of Phillip Shaw’s The Idiot as a peace offering because she’d forgotten to bring back my spare keys for the second week in a row.

We sat around the dinner table chitter chattering for ages, something the three of us haven’t done for a very long time.

Then the dogs hid under my sister’s bed because they didn’t want the fun to end …

But mean Mummy dragged them out and made them sleep in the laundry.

It’s hard being them.

I’m not sure about vacancy levels tonight at the House Hotel, but I have a killer 12-hour work day ahead of me, so there will be no chef at the inn.

Chef is tired. Chef doesn’t want to get out of bed. Chef needs to slow down.
