I double booked myself last night. And I am regretting it slightly this morning.
I RSVP’d to attend a Bord Bia (the Irish Food Board) event at Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores AND the Henry Deane rooftop cocktail bar’s 10th birthday.
Both were in The Rocks. Very handy, very convenient. But they overlapped.
The Bord Bia event was drop-in style from 3-6pm. Henry Deane kicked off at 5.30pm.
I had forgotten to add Bord Bia to my diary. So it was a mad scramble to get out of the apartment after work and hustle to Circular Quay to sample Irish whiskies.
Poor me.

The event provided an opportunity to meet Irish spirits producers and learn about their craft while listening to their lovely lilting accents.
My tips: Redbreast 18 year old is delicious. And so is Natterjack, which has an American bourbon slant to it, through the use of corn in the mix.
I also loved Black Emerald, which is coming to Australia later this year. The 7-year-old rum finish whiskey was very yum.
Then I dashed up the road to meet my friend Mira to celebrate Henry Deane’s 10th anniversary, at a party organised by my fabulous friend Shae.
If you are looking for an awesome spot in the city for a drink with gun-barrel Sydney Harbour views, Henry Deane is it.
Located on the rooftop of Hotel Palisade, the venue unveiled its new food and cocktail menu – including an olive oil and wasabi martini – to celebrate its birthday and also launched a signature gin in collaboration with Hickson House Distillery.

So. Many. Cocktails.

And caviar bumps. As you do.
I remembered to drink water and have Nurofen before bed so I am not as dusty as I feared.
But I am due in the office this morning, so I’d better get moving and return to the scene of the crime.
Have a great weekend.
