You know how I was agonising over cabin types for the cruise we’re contemplating?
Well our new travel agent checked into the cheaper, no-balcony cabin and discovered it was designed for passengers in wheelchairs and had a curtain instead of a door into the bathroom, with no separate toilet.
Not ideal.
Plus we got lots of feedback from cruise veterans who recommended paying extra to get a balcony cabin.
So we took a deep breath and secured … two cabins with balconies!
I noticed on the website that Ponant had added a no solo supplement to the cruise, which meant we could have separate cabins for the same price as sharing one!
Bargain!
Well, not really a bargain, but it makes the pain of the fare price a little less acute.
We decided two cabins next door to each other would be practical as we won’t have to worry about being restless sleepers and waking each other up. Also, DD sometimes sleeps much longer than me, so I’ll be able to rattle around my own cabin early in the mornings.
I’ve decided to keep suspense levels high by not revealing our destination until closer to the date.
But it’s somewhere warm and remote and it’s an expedition cruise.
Woo-hoo! I’m going on holidays later this year! And I’m excited about it!
Have a great weekend. Mine will be spent turning 56 … gulp.
