I had THE MOST AWESOME TIME last night … and I wasn’t at a booze function.
DD bought me tickets for (last) Christmas to see Robbie Williams in concert. It was his first Robbie life experience.
The looks on our faces tells it all …

DD enjoyed himself and I bloody loved it.
That’s me dancing to Rock DJ.
It was my third Robbie concert. I saw my first one when I was living in Singapore in 2001. The second was with my sister pre-COVID.
Robbie is the ultimate showman. Aside from singing and dancing up a storm he also kept jumping off the stage to interact with the audience, talking to various people and randomly dedicating songs to them.
One bloke had even organised to propose to his girlfriend with Robbie’s help. Robbie held the microphone for him while he asked, then the bloke got down on bended knee in front of 38,000 people. Luckily she said yes and the crowd went wild.
I did a lot of joyful crying because it was such an uplifting show. I blubbed particularly hard during the positive affirmation song Love My Life.
Robbie talked a lot during the show about his journey through anxiety, depression, drugs and alcohol. He said the things that he always swore he wouldn’t do – get married and have kids – were actually what saved him and finally brought him the happiness he craved but didn’t find in fame or drugs.

And he sang all his other big hits, plus a couple of Take That songs and a few covers. After telling a story about going to Glastonbury and joining Oasis on stage he sang Don’t Look Back in Anger. And then, in honour of his Aussie visit, he sang John Farnham’s The Voice. The crowd went absolutely wild.

When it came time for the second encore, the band left the stage and Robbie sang snippets of choruses from his biggest hits on his own, often pausing to let the audience raise the roof on their own.
Too good!
And now I’m having a little break from normal life. The youngest and I are going on an adventure. I will catch you in a week, with many tales to tell.
Take care.
Song of the day: Robbie Williams “Love my life”
A little break from ‘normal life’ ?!😅 Every day of your ‘normal’ sounds like a huge adventure to me! I honestly don’t think I could keep up! Can’t wait to hear what qualifies as an adventure to you.
Ps. Robbie concert sounds like it was the best – nothing like a real showman xx
Normal life is wearing me out! But I am very excited by my plans for next week. Hopefully they will involve some spectacular photo ops
good stuff..just listened to a radio talk about how more and more um, younger people are forgoing things like exotic vacations, purchasing big ticket items and going to live concerts instead..and grumpy old me is remembering pay $10 to see Fleetwood Mac’s Rumour live a million years ago…..but yeah, good stuff, live music is back….
I wasn’t convinced it would be worth the money, but the endorphin rush was awesome
That concert sounds amazing – I can’t believe I’ve never seen Robbie perform – where have I been!? Enjoy your adventure! x
I 100% recommend Robbie live
I can only name one Robbie song – obviously I’ve been missing out!
Oh Jen, you need to look him up. There are so many gems – She’s The One, Rock DJ, Let Me Entertain You, Angels, Feel ….
