So many B words

My freelance world has been a little more complicated than usual this week because the “b” key on my computer keyboard is malfunctioning. It’s sticking and misbehaving. You don’t realise how often you use the second letter of the alphabet until it starts playing up.

I’ve been putting off going to Officeworks to get a new keyboard – I’m a bit lairy about going anywhere in light of the 239 cases in Sydney yesterday. Fark! At this rate we’ll be in lockdown forever.

I’ve been looking at real estate that’s far, far away from delta-ridden Sydney to soothe myself.

I can’t decide whether I’m a Gold Coast canals kinda gal – the latest Yourtown lottery house (above) is in Mermaid Waters. Though I’m sorely tempted by the magnesium swimming pool, which would go down a treat with the eczema-prone youngest.

If I fancied living in Melbourne I would be salivating over a place that’s currently on the market in Kew. It’s called Edelweiss and it needs a sympathetic new owner because it’s being marketed for potential redevelopment.

That would be a crying shame because LOOK at it:

OK, dodgy lighting, but it has lots of other things I love, like built-in seating and curved cupboards.

As the agent says: “Built in the mid 1950’s by its current family, ‘Edelweiss’ is an exquisite generational legacy of Mid Century character and originality in near flawless condition.”

It even has a mermaid mosaic in the bathroom, be still my beating heart!

But sketching new bathroom layouts for my current abode will have to do. Although, who knows when I’ll be allowed to let tradies cross my threshold again.

OK, over and out for yet another weekend in lockdown. Fingers crossed I can convince DD to go for a dip with me – the weather forecast is looking unusually balmy for July.

Have a good one!

  1. Hi Alana. You can do click & collect with Officeworks. The pretty good about pick-ups and distancing. Cheers D
