I checked my HouseGoesHome stats last night and guess what? I’ve passed the milestone of 1 million views!
HouseGoesHome and I have been through a lot together over the years. It kicked off a month after I left ACP Magazines, where I’d spent 20 years as a print journalist and editor.
It initially chronicled my struggles to adjust to being a stay-at-home mum – the inspiration for my blog title – and to overcome the health issues that my traumatic career exit had created.
It’s been with me through my marriage break-up and the emotional turmoil that came before and after.
It has shared the joy of my four-year relationship with DD.
It has seen me through jobs at Mamamia and Escape.com.au and Kidspot and The Drinks Association.
It flits from subjects as diverse as drinks functions I attend, prison visits to my high school friend Kathleen Folbigg, my burgeoning love of the sea and the challenges of being a single mum.
I have a loyal band of followers, many of whom read about my escapades on a daily basis, which makes it a bit weird when we catch up in real life, as they already know most of my news!
Somehow that doesn’t stop me taking up most of the air space …
A million isn’t much for a commercial website, but it feels pretty special for this little one.
Thank you for coming along for the ride. Here’s to a million more views!
Speaking of a million, gotta go, the nit comb and I have some work to do …
Have a fab weekend and I’ll catch you next week.
