How the stars celebrated NYE 2017

Hope you had an awesome NYE. Mine was spur-of-the-moment, as is DD’s way.

We scored a last-minute invitation to his friend’s house for a BBQ, before heading to a little beach below Taronga Zoo to watch the midnight fireworks. It was a little surreal hearing chimps screeching as we wandered along the bush track to our destination.

Speaking of surreal, I dropped over to my sister’s house for a NYE drink with her housesitters yesterday arvo. It was so weird to be sitting around the outdoor setting without her. But we cracked a few bottles of bubbly stuff and managed somehow.

Everyone is busily saying “good riddance” to 2016, but I have quite a soft spot for it, despite all the celebrity deaths, Trump and Brexit. I had a pretty awesome year with a great new job and 12 lovely months with DD that include two overseas holidays.

I’m now horribly broke, but it’s been a blast and I’m looking forward to a more restrained but equally blessed 2017.
