How’s your long weekend going?
Forgive me, but I’m about to boast … mine has been pretty freaking awesome. I went to Vivid Sydney for the … um … third time on Saturday night. And yesterday I went for the most gorgeous bike ride on the Central Coast.

An infuriating 20 minute wait for a food van jaffle on our last trip to Vivid lead us to dine across the bridge in Kirribilli at Bangkok Sidewalk then walk over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Absolutely delicious food and really fun decor.
The harbour looked amazing from the bridge, but it was tricky to capture its magic on my iPhone.
The youngest had been banging on about wanting to see the “room full of mirrors” at Vivid. Turned out it was this light box near the Park Hyatt, when you looked inside it, the lights seemed to go on forever.
The eldest grudgingly allowed me to take a photo of her.
On Sunday morning, DD and I decided to catch the ferry from Palm Beach to Ettalong and go cycling. We rode past the house where my ex-husband’s grandfather used to live. I spent 23 years travelling there for various family occasions so it holds a special place in my heart. I had to take a photo of the gorgeous florist shop that’s remarkably sprung up in his dingy old back shed.
My lady bits were not having fun on the bicycle DD lent me (why don’t bike manufacturers soften those lady seats up?), so he stopped at Woy Woy Kmart to get me a seat pad. Such a sweet man. As I was minding the bikes I realised I was outside the bottle shop that my ex and I went to one day at 10am to get supplies for a family function and overhead a customer complaining that the cask wine that was on special wasn’t refrigerated … because everyone needs cold cask wine at 10am …
This isn’t a photo on zoom. The pelicans at Woy Woy are so zen they let you stand right next to them.

We shared a plate of this evil goodness for lunch. So much for the diet and 15km bike ride.
Oh, and we also scoffed a couple of fish tacos.

This was the view on the way back to the ferry. DD was highly amused by me staring at all the waterfront houses instead of the water. I can’t help myself – I always imagine which house I would choose if I was going to live there. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to twiddle my knobs. There were a few that tickled my fancy on the bike ride, but we were in a rush to catch the ferry back and I didn’t get a chance to snap them.

DD decided to do his spontaneous thing and pulled up at Jonah’s at Whale Beach on our way home for a glass of prosecco by the sea. It was glorious.

The sun setting over Pittwater, my iPhone couldn’t really capture the glorious orange colour. Beautiful end to the day.
And that was my glorious time. Lucky me!
