Red faces, red noses and Daniel Craig’s hilarious “real” voice

The youngest and I were hoping to finally watch Pitch Perfect last night, but the eldest put the kibosh on it because it’s “not suitable.” “It’s ‘m’ rated and that’s not for violence,” she admonished.

Oh. OK.

Cue pouting from me and the nine-year-old.

The 11-year-old is going through a prudish phase, if she sees me wandering around the house in a bra she has an absolute fit and insists I cover up immediately. I really should be an adult about it, but I’ve started flashing her, just to gee her up.

And it works! Oh, the horrified squeals …

But that’s not what this blog is about. I was just being tangential (yet again) …

This blog is about Red Nose Day. In Australia the day is about raising money for SIDS research, but in America it’s to raise money to help young people living in poverty.

Red Nose Day doesn’t dawn here until June 26, but America marks the day early. Yesterday, the stars came out in force with their red schnozes.

Leading the charge was TV station NBC, which televised a fundraiser starring a dazzling array of talent – everyone from Seth Meyers to Jane Krakowski, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Chris Hemsworth, Zach Efron, Neil Patrick Harris, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon, One Direction, Elizabeth Banks, and Rose Byrne took part in sketches to encourage people to donate to SIDS research.

Among the funniest was a segment promising to reveal the shocking “real voices” of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Julia Roberts, Daniel Craig, Hugh Grant and Liam Neeson. It’s guaranteed to put a giant smile on your face. Particularly Daniel Craig – his “real” voice is HILARIOUS. Check it out …

Chris Martin and Coldplay came up with a musical version of Game of Thrones … very funny too …

If you don’t have time for the full version, Peter Dinklage singing about all the deaths in the show is a must-see …

Their combined efforts raised more $10 million.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran and Kermit teamed up to sing The Rainbow Connection, which I’m declaring my song of the day …

Finally, here’s a gallery of red-nosed stars:
