>> Breaking news overnight is that Melanie Griffith has filed for divorce from Antonio Banderas after 18 years of marriage in a conscious uncoupling that echoes that of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.

The actress filed for divorce from Banderas on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE magazine.

She seeks spousal support from Banderas and physical custody of their daughter Stella,

Their rep released this statement from the couple: “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together.”

Matthew is currently playing a ghost dad on Offspring, but he’s just become a dad in real life.

He announced via Instagram last Sunday night that he and partner Michelle Monique had welcomed a son.

“Going to miss these precious hands,” he wrote. “Counting the days my darling @michelle_monique x.”

The couple named their bub Levi. Congratulations to the happy new family!

He celebrated daughter Everly’s first birthday with this cute Instagram shot, captioned: “Happy birthday my angel.”
