Shenae reckons black is the new white
Shortly before announcing her separation from her husband last year, designer Vera Wang designed a heavily black wedding dress collection (oh dear). Rather than horrifying people, the trend has taken off, with heaps of other bridal designers incorporating the dramatic hue into their collections.
And now a celebrity has worn the trend. Actress Shenae Grimes – a former Beverly Hills 90210 star who’s since appeared in … not much – married British model and musician Josh Beech on Friday in Look 9 from Wang’s Fall 2012 collection and posted a pic from the day on her Twitter account, with the caption: “I now pronounce us Mr. and Mrs. Beech! Ahhh! Xx”
Her dress wasn’t the only nontraditional part of the ceremony, held just outside of London at a countryside manor. Instead of walking down the aisle to traditional music, Shenae opted for house music instead.
Shakira: I looked like a Shar Pei after I gave birth
Singer and new mum Shakira has discussed her anxiety about losing her sex appeal post-baby in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.
“Looking at your new image in the mirror … I looked like a Shar Pei [dog] when I first delivered.”
“I was like, `Oh my God. Am I ever going to be sexy again? Is my man ever going to feel attracted to me again the way he used to be?'”
She then joked: “He’s so good looking. He better be attracted to me because he is something.”
Tori named Mother of The Year
Tori Spelling was announced as Mother of The Year at The Helping Hand of Los Angeles, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s 84th Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon on Friday.
By her side were her mother Candy, 67, son Liam, 6, daughter Stella, 4, daughter Hattie, 19 months, and son Finn, 8 months
Tori told US magazine: “When they asked me to be Mother of the Year, at first I was like, ‘I don’t deserve it!’ But then I thought, ‘I’m going to go there and take this award on behalf of moms everywhere.’ I feel like moms, we’re different from other people. We support each other. We don’t say, ‘Who did that better?’ There’s no rivalry or jealousy. Moms are one the only groups you’ll ever find that’s a true community that bands together.”
As for what her Mother’s Day plans were: “I’m getting a surprise! They said they were making me something and cooking me something, so that scares me and excites me all at the same time!”
Gwyneth twists the knife
Gwyneth Paltrow has sounded off again about how much she hated the Met Gala, this time to Kyle and Jackie O.
She kicked off the interview by warning them she was “drunk already” after “a martini went straight to my head and now wine with no food”, then said: “Do you want me to be honest? It sucked. It seems like it’s the best thing in the world, you always think, ‘Oh my god, it’s gonna be so glamorous and amazing and you’re going to see all these people’ and then you get there and it’s so hot and it’s so crowded and everyone’s pushing you.”
She also griped about the theme: “I think we’re all a bit old to dress up punk. I just went as kind of normal.”
The one thing she enjoyed was meeting Psy: “Our son is obsessed with [Psy]…so we went up and Chris was like, ‘Hello, I’m from the band Coldplay,’ but then Psy didn’t seem to know who he was. But then he put two and two together and he was really happy to meet Chris. And we said, ‘We’re so sorry to bother you, but could we have a picture for our children?’
“I like his style. it’s like MC hammer meets a Scottish sort of – I don’t know what’s happening.”
Chris and Rihanna’s Twitter feud
Rihanna and Chris Brown have launched an almighty tiff on Twitter. As you do. For the whole world – or at least your millions of followers – to see.
First Rihanna uploaded an Instagram picture with the words: “If I drop all my hoes for you and we still don’t work out you owe me some hoes.”
Then Chris countered with: “She’s not mine if she’s everybody elses.”
Over to Rihanna … who posted a pic of herself with a martini and the caption: “Got a thang for a King, but chu ain’t a King.”

Isla’s deadly stunt
Isla Fisher has revealed she had a brush with death on the set of her latest movie, Now You See Me.
She plays an escapologist and was filming a scene where frees herself from chains while submerged in a tank of water.
But the chains became entangled as she started running out of oxygen, and she couldn’t reach a safety button that would drain the tank.
“They had a guy who was off camera, but he was a long way away with a can of oxygen,” she said. “By the time I realised I couldn’t get up and beckoned for him, I realised that I had run out of air.”
In her moment of panic she confesses she thought: “Not in a swimming costume. No one wants to go in a swimming costume.”
But fortunately she managed to untangle herself at the last minute.
“Luckily, I managed to get free and stay level-headed and got out before it went even more horribly wrong.”
Beyonce’s moving Mother’s Day video
Beyonce gathered a gang of her celebrity friends to talk about what their mother’s mean to them for Mother’s Day.
The video was the product of her organisation, Chime for Change – which aims to empower and promote girls’ and women’s issues around the world.
Cameron Diaz, John Legend, Ziggy Marley, Olivia Wilde, Blake Lively and Hafsat Abiola revealed what makes their mothers so special.
Blake: “To me, she’s the greatest celebrity I’ve ever met.”
Ziggy: “She’s a strong woman who leads by example.”
Beyonce: “Her gift is finding the best qualities in every human being.”
Cameron: “Somehow she would have a thousand balls up in the air at one time and be able to catch all of them.”
Olivia: “She is a true revolutionary.”

Hilary confesses: motherhood is a rollercoaster
Hilary Duff has revealed the challenges she’s faced as a first-time mother to Luca, 13 months in an interview with US magazine.
“Exhaustion is a good one to start with! You’re very sleep-deprived,” she said. “Sometimes you have a crying baby and you can’t do anything to get them to stop crying … you feel, as their mom, that you should be able to have all the answers and be able to take care of them so easily.”
“But babies don’t come with a manual and you don’t always know what’s going on. So it’s easy to get frustrated and it’s easy to blame yourself -especially being sleep-deprived and on a hormonal roller coaster!”
And she confesses she’s in no hurry to have a second just yet: “It’s not something I’m dying to rush into. I’m enjoying him [Luca] so much, and now that he’s a year, I’m finally getting to have a life again. He’ll go down at 7 and then we can go out for dinner or go do something fun and he doesn’t even know we’re gone.”
