So, what did you blink and miss in Hollywood this week? I’m on the case …
>> Mariah Carey told US TV personality Ryan Seacreast that her two-year-old Monroe will feature on a track on her upcoming album.
“My little girl is going to be appearing on the album … She can’t really put a complete sentence together – she was 1-year-old when she started – but she did a good job!” she said.
>> Check out 20 pervy behind the scenes pics from the celebrity-crammed Met Gala here.
Then gape at the wacky stuff the stars wore on the red carpet to the punk themed ball here.
Rihanna tweeted: “This b*tch makes me throw up!!” about Nicole Ritchie‘s outfit for the ball. That’s Rihanna speak for “She looks awesome”. Fortunately Nicole understands Rihanna speak and retweeted it saying: “Currently shining bright like a diamond, a ruby, & 2 emeralds.”
>> Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin refused to be photographed together at the Met Gala, but Psy excitedly posed for separate shots with them. In 2009, Gwyneth told Elle magazine: “It doesn’t behoove us to be a public couple. He certainly doesn’t want that. We’ve never ever walked down a red carpet together, we never will.” Right.
>> Robin Williams hilarious tweeted “I wore it better” after seeing Kim Kardashian‘s frock from the Met Gala (together with the above Mrs Doubtfire comparison).
>> Reese Witherspoon‘s stepmum, Tricianne Taylor, told the National Enquirer that Reese needs to go into rehab after her recent arrest (despite having never even met her). Tricianne married Reese’s father John Witherspoon last year, while he was still married to former wife – and Reese’s mother – Betty. He has early-onset dementia and claims he doesn’t even remember marrying Tricianne. That didn’t stop a very cross Betty lodging legal action for bigamy. Anyways, Tricianne told the National Enquirer: “Reese shows very little respect to her father, and he’s been ostracised by her because she’s so angry that he married me. Based on Reese’s behaviour in those police videos following her recent arrest, I believe she has a serious drinking problem and needs to get professional help.”
>> I was so sad to hear that Jeanne Cooper, who starred in The Young And The Restless for 40 years as Catherine Chancellor, died this week at age 84. I was a total Y&R addict in my teens and early 20s.
>> A US talk show host asked Jessica Simpson‘s ex-husband Nick Lachey what the best thing is about no longer having her dad Joe as a father-in-law and he answered: “I don’t have to play grab-ass under the table on Easter Sunday.” I’m guessing that has something to do with the unconfirmed rumours that Joe has been dating a young man following his divorce. Awkward!
>> Hollywood’s favourite cougar, Demi Moore, 50, has hooked up with a former Australian pearl farmer,Will Hanigan, 30 (above). “She’s an amazing woman,” he told Star magazine. “We know each other through yoga, and we’ve become close.”
Stay tuned for my wrap-up of the weekend in Hollywood on Monday morning.
