It’s diva day – read what Miranda and Russell have done to earn the tag … meanwhile Molly’s a real-life jazz one.

Miranda dogged by diva rumours

People magazine is reporting that there’s speculation Victoria’s Secret won’t renew Miranda Kerr’s $1 million contract.

Sources behind the scenes have told People she’ll no longer be an official Victoria’s Secret “angel” because she’s a diva: “She can be difficult at shoots and appearances. She’s not very timely,” the source said. “She’s standoffish with the rest of the girls.”

However, Victoria’s Secret has released the following statement from president and chief marketing officer Ed Razek: “Miranda Kerr is one of the best models in the history of the business — and easily one of the most popular. She is also a consummate professional. Any rumors to the contrary are simply untrue. While her international commitments have kept her away from us more than we’d like over the past few years, she will always be an Angel to me … In fact, I’ve already invited her to walk the runway in this year’s fashion show and, happily, she’s agreed.”

Just a few weeks ago, Miranda parted ways with another big client, David Jones. The Daily Telegraph reported: “For months there has been murmurings that the relationship between Kerr and David Jones was under pressure because, said one insider, Kerr had become ‘bored’ with her catwalk and catalogue commitments.”

Eeek … Tom DIDN’T talk about his divorce

katie-holmes-tom-cruise

Tom Cruise sure picked an odd to time to open up about his divorce from Katie Holmes…or so it seemed. While promoting Oblivion in Vienna this week, the very private actor said some surprisingly candid things about the split. Was it a PR stunt to boost the film’s buzz? Nope – it turns out that the quotes weren’t about the divorce at all.

According to the German news source Bunte.de, the TV network ProSeiben asked Cruise for his feelings about Katie leaving him.

“I did not expect that,” the actor reportedly replied. “(I) had an unbelievable amount of time to think about it. Life is a challenge…to be 50 and to have experiences and to think you have a grip on everything, and then it hits you — this is it, what life can do to you. Life is a tragicomedy. You need to have a sense of humor.”

We can kind of see Cruise saying those things, but something seemed a little off. After all, it’s been less than a year since the divorce, and Tom has never really spoken publicly about his other relationships.

Tom’s rep has since told People that all the supposed quotes about the divorce were either fabricated or taken out of context. Interviewer Steven Gaetjen concurred, saying he’d never asked Cruise about Holmes.

Here’s what Cruise did say: he thinks it’s “great to be 50.” Making films is “a constant learning process.” And if his kids Connor, Isabella and Suri want to go into show biz, “the door is open for them.” Hmm – the real interview quotes are a lot less interesting!

Who worked it better?

whoworkeditbettermichellewilliams

Dlisted cracks me up … his latest hilarious riff is aimed at Michelle Williams‘ new haircut: “On the right is Michelle Williams after Edward Scissorhands did her up and on the left is an emo guinea pig who would care about Michelle stealing its look, but it’s too busy crying and dying on the inside.

“Like I even need to ask who won this Hair Battle Spectacular … really, when are celebrities (I’m also talking to your ass too, Justin Bieber) going to realize that the emo guinea pig haircut only works when you’re an emo guinea pig! Emo guinea pig, you won this round like you win all those rounds. Although, I doubt you care, so just shrug and go back to painting your guinea pig nails black.”

Russell told Rebel to f*#k off

rebel-wilson-leno

Rebel Wilson has revealed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno the night she was verbally abused by Russell Crowe.

In her youth, Rebel was the recipient of the Nicole Kidman Scholarship at the Australian Theatre for Young People. One night, she spotted Nicole having dinner with Russell and approached them.

“I thought now is my chance to say thank you and I went up to them but before I could say anything Russell Crowe looked at me and says ‘Fuck off’,” she recalled. “So I just like put my head down and walked away. But thanks Nicole.”

While the moment was painful, Rebel manages to make it hilarious in the re-telling. Watch it here:

Is there anything Molly can’t do?

molly-ringwald

Molly Ringwald has had an amazing 12 months – she’s released her first novel, completed filming the final season of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and release of her first album, a collection of jazz standards called Except Sometimes that she tweeted yesterday is already “#2 on iTunes Jazz!!!”

But she’ll always be Claire Standish to me.  That’s the character she played in The Breakfast Club and it seems it holds a special place in her heart too, because she’s done a cover of “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” a.k.a. The Breakfast Club‘s iconic theme song on her new album.

Listen to a preview of it here. Fingers crossed she sings the whole version when she tours Australia in June.
