My Christmas Wish List

Naturally, peace on earth and goodwill to all men tops my list of Christmas wishes but, while that’s being sorted, there’s some other stuff I’d quite fancy too.

People reckon I’m hard to buy for. I can’t understand why. There are soooooo many things I’d like.

My Christmas lust list was ignited when I saw Mrs Woog’s Christmas Gift Guide For Lazy Assed Shoppers. Her blog focussed on gift inspirations for others, but I’ve pretty much got that sorted, so I got giddy about stuff for me, like Bert & Patty, her garden flamingos, a steal at just $35 a pair from Retro Flamingos.

I’m also hanging for a pair of red sneakers. I quite fancy these ones from Lacoste. They’re $99 at Hype.

I could really do with a new rice cooker, as my current one distributes little grey flecks of teflon through our dinners. This Sunbeam one is $49 from Appliances Direct Online.

My Blackberry case is looking very decrepit, all the lining has come away. Blackberry’s aren’t the bee’s knees anymore, so Marc Jacobs doesn’t make cases for them like he does for iPhones. But I’d manage somehow with a leather one from The Blackberry Store for $29.

My iPad’s cover is looking scrappy too. Marc Jacobs does make covers for those, but they’re weird bulldog and loveheart designs. I just want a plain black leather one like this, $34.98 from JB-Hi-Fi.

Speaking of Marc Jacobs, I fancy these Sherpa Moto Boots for the stratospheric price of $497 from http://www.shopbop.com, although there is free shipping to Australia on orders over $150. A bit toasty for the Aussie summer, I’ll admit, but just the thing come next May.

I have a thing for Peter Alexander pyjamas. Sure, there are some pretty naff designs and patterns these days, but also delicious items like this paisley nightie and matching smoking jacket.

I know that iTunes are the way of the future, but I like the solidity of the past. So I’d be thrilled with last season’s Doctor Who on DVD. You’ll find it at the ABC Shop, on sale for $49.

I’m enamoured with this hutch for Mr Bunnykins, I think it would look sweet-as in the family room. It’s $110 on Gumtree. Unfortunately the seller only accepts cash and requires pick-up from the Central Coast, which makes things a mite tricky.

While on the subject of things rabbity, Mr Bunnykins could really do with one of these to keep him company, with all that extra hutch space. They’re about $120 at the local pet shop. I know, for a bunny. You won’t believe what they’re charging for rats.

Finally, I’ve been perving on an orange top in the shop window near my bus stop. It was on the mannequin but they’ve swapped it for a green one. A girl can never have too many orange tops (even when she’s already got 10). I prefer it with short sleeves … and, come to think of it, I don’t mind it in the green either. No idea how much it is. Sprog 1 has the details on where to find it.

OK, that’s me. What’s on your wish list?

PS Husband, on the other hand, can expect socks and a dirty look on Christmas morning. Last year I lovingly wrapped a Kindle for him. For the first few months he made excuses about all the real books beside his bed he had to read first, until it finally became apparent the Kindle was missing. Tossed out with last year’s crumpled wrapping paper presumably, not that he’s bothered searching for it. Annoyingly, it turns out Husband really, really wants socks for Christmas – wool acrylic please! he replied delightedly when I pronounced his punishment. Better get him cotton ones then.
