Sometimes I wake up, check the celebrity gossip sites and think: “It has to be a joke.”

But, no, Lindsay Lohan‘s life continues to be a car crash, literally. This time she’s run into a pedestrian in New York on her way to a nightclub.

According to People magazine: “Authorities say a 34-year-old Hispanic male alleges that Lohan clipped him when she was driving her 2010 black Porsche Cayenne SUV in an alleyway between the Maritime and Dream Hotels, on 16th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.

“After allegedly hitting the man, she or her occupant got out of the SUV to check the vehicle for damage, then the two went into the Dream, say police. The victim was sent to Bellevue Hospital with a knee injury. There is no word on the severity of his injury.

“When Lohan returned to her car after leaving the club, she was arrested.”

Apparently she screamed “Call my dad!  Call my dad!” as she was taken into custody. Because he has lots of experience with being dragged to police stations.

The accident comes just days after she dissed fellow actress Amanda Bynes for her hit-and-run accidents. “Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” she tweeted.

Meanwhile, TMZ reports: “Jose Rodriguez — a Manhattan chef — spoke with the New York Daily News following the crash … claiming Lindsay was slurring her words and “smelled like alcohol real bad” when she hit him with her Porsche … Cops say they don’t believe Lohan was drunk at the time of the arrest — however Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly admitted Lindsay did not take a breathalyzer test. Rodriguez told the Daily News he had just gotten off work at the Bottega restaurant when all of the sudden “[I] saw this car come real quick and hit me.”

“I was in so much pain … I fell to the side.”

Other sources are questioning whether it was a set-up. And Lindsay reckons she didn’t hit anyone at all, describing the incident as “really fishy”.

I bet Amanda Bynes is giggling to herself somewhere. Although a LA judge has threatened to place a massive bail on her head if she gets behind the wheel of a car or has any more problems with the law, so that might have wiped the smile off her face (not to mention the news her parents are moving from Texas to LA to keep an eye on her).

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart recently “had a dramatic makeup” in Los Angeles according to US Weekly.

“After that tete-a-tete, the Twilight twosome (Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters in November) have met on subsequent occasions, another source confirms. “They’re working it out,” the source tells Us. “He’s still in love with her.”

People magazine backs the story up, reporting: “And, according to an insider, the Twilighthunk’s pals “think they’ll be a couple again.”

“While Pattinson was completely heartbroken over the split, says another source, moving on is “easier said than done … and clearly harder than expected.”

Liz Hurley’s bikini backlash

The bikinis-on-kids debate continues – following Jessica Simpson being berated for putting baby Maxwell in one – with Elizabeth Hurley copping flack for her children’s swimwear line.

According to The Daily Mail, Liz has been accused of sexualising young girls through her bikini range for children.

“Claude Knight, director of the child protection charity Kidscape, said: ‘It is very disturbing to see some inappropriate items in this swimwear range.'”

‘The pieces that are very adult and which contribute to the sexualisation of young girls – especially in the poses portrayed – do not take account of the child protection concerns that have been well-aired.’

“And Dr Katherine Rake, chief executive of the Family and Parenting Institute charity, said the designs put pressure on parents by attracting young girls to the notion of growing up too fast.”

I’m a bit perturbed by the whole thing. I have to admit putting the Sprogs in bikinis on occasion and not thinking much about it, other than that they looked cute. And I’ve just bought Sprog 2 a tankini for summer. Are tankinis ok, or are they sexy too?
