The eldest bought boots for Bilbo the Moxie as his Christmas present and tried them on him last night.
Bilbo, as you can probably tell, was deeply dismayed by his gift.
The boots were intended to stop him getting itchy feet – both dogs spend the spring and summer months chewing their toes due to grass allergies – but the experiment failed.
Christmas does seem to be the time for crazy purchases. I have been procuring some very wacky stuff as stocking stuffers for the kids over the last few weeks.
The children will probably look about as happy as Bilbo when they receive their gifts on Christmas morning.
Actually, so will my sister. I’ve really gone off on a wild tangent with hers.
The positive part is that my shopping is almost done and it’s only December 9. Go me!

OK, time to haul my reluctant body out of bed for another day in the office.
I hope it’s more flexible than it was yesterday – my hip was so stiff that tying my shoelaces was quite the struggle.
Perhaps stretch classes should be in my Christmas stocking?
On the other hand, I’ve spotted a cruise sale and emailed DD three very enticing options for 2027 …
