So much for cutting back on blogging. Yesterday was a tough one at work and I need to do some therapy writing.
The therapy writing doesn’t even need to be about the stuff that was tough. Writing about anything soothes me.
Adulting is hard. Writing is easy.
I’m going to rattle on about how living alone has led to me doing a lot of “bubble and squeaky” eating.
This involves me opening the fridge, auditing what’s there and come up with meal solutions to use it all up.
It reached a new level of weirdness last week when I made myself a sandwich to toast at work that featured Vegemite, cheese and leftover roasted broccolini.
Kinda gross, but not completely disgusting. And I figured it delivered a few vitamins into my day.
Without the kids around to complain about my creations, I can muddle along making sub-par meals and not worry about getting bad reviews.
Last night I made risotto with leftover ham and corn, adding in some mushrooms and leek.
I reckon if you toss a bit of chilli oil and cheese into anything it can hit the spot.
I also treated myself to a therapy pedicure at a salon down the road. And I lashed out on a shimmery chrome effect polish that cost a freaking fortune.
But I’m worth it.
And it looks so unicorn dreamy.
Once the after-work traffic subsided I headed to Bunnings for one of those key lockbox things because the painters are finally coming to repair my ceiling that was damaged by the leaking – and now fixed – roof.
It’s going to take a few days and the lockbox will mean we can share my keys, since the other sets are with the youngest and my sister.
Oh, and for those who read yesterday’s blog, I am wondering if I should send out a quiz asking what people do and don’t enjoy me writing about.
Should I blog about my holidays or not? Should I blog about my pets or not? Should I blog about my opinions around current events or not?
Any thoughts and feelings would be much appreciated as I’m feeling a bit uncertain.
Have a great weekend.
PS Bubble and squeak pic is from Egg Info. Get the recipe here.
PPS The risotto was deeelicious.
