We are having the most wonderful time in the Kimberley. The views are spectacular and so is the cheese.
So. Many. Cheese. Plates.
Le Soleal is a French cruise ship after all.
Oh and the sunrises aren’t too bad either …

After a day at sea from Darwin, we arrived in Vansittart Bay yesterday to explore Jar Island, which is filled with Gwion Gwion rock art and patrolled by a resident crocodile.
The zodiacs were lowered and we headed over to explore, with strict warnings not to put our hands or feet into the water.

Sharing images of the rock art on social media is not respectful, but here’s a pic of us looking at it …

DD also took a very arty pic of the local floral …

During an afternoon spin in the zodiacs we saw a baby croc in the water and an egret landing in its nest high up on a rocky outcrop.

Then it was back to the ship to gaze out to sea for a while with a glass of French bubbles in hand.

Oh, and maybe an Aperol Spritz …
It’s remarkable the difference that a few days away from an office chair and being in warmer climes makes.
My hip doesn’t hurt. My back doesn’t hurt. My brain is less busy.
It’s bliss.
And today we’re heading to the Hunter River for some more Kimberley magic … and lots of crocs …
