It’s been more than 10 years since DD and I started dating and we might have passed our use-by date on moving in together.
There is no burning desire to cohabitate.
It would be cheaper to run one household rather than two, but we like having our own space.
The youngest’s boyfriend is confounded by our relationship. He can’t understand why we don’t shack up after being together for so long.
Ah, the innocence of youth.
Perhaps we’ll purchase adjacent townhouses one day … or townhouses in adjacent suburbs.
Living closer to him … and the beach … would be fun.
We had such a lovely time sitting on his front deck eating bowls of pasta on Monday evening after a swim at Bilgola Beach. It felt like I was on holidays, except it was at my partner’s permanent home. Lucky him!
As we basked in the warm twilight, I showed him my latest dream house.

It’s a Moroccan-style mansion that’s for sale in the Lennox Head hinterland.
I’ve had a thing for Moroccan decor for decades – it was a major theme among my wedding gifts.
But DD was not impressed.
What the actual? It is stunning!!!!! Check out the view …

I am particularly enamoured with the bathrooms, but they also left him cold.

(View all the details on the property here.)
Aside from liking our own space, it’s clear we have VERY different taste in decorating.
He’s a grey leather couch kinda guy, I’m a green velvet sofa kinda gal.
His walls are filled with Aboriginal art, I fancy plastering mine with a pink tropical wallpaper …

I recently took a screenshot of this cafe for future reference. Ooooh, so pretty!
Maybe I will feel differently about things when I am living alone.
I’ll find out in a few weeks when the eldest moves out.
But I think I will be fine. My life is so full with work and Drinks Digest and other projects and friends.
Ask me again when I’m retired …
