My apartment walls have been painted Glinks Gully half-strength and they look GLORIOUS.
I was a bit disappointed when I first saw the walls at night because I didn’t think it was a striking enough change.
But the next morning, when I compared the kitchen wall – on the left side of the photo below, which hadn’t been painted yet – to the living room wall, I started getting excited.

Suddenly I could see how yellow and old-fashioned the previous colour looked compared to the new one.
Glinks Gully is such an awesome, sophisticated shade. Heaven! I am going to get so much enjoyment out of gazing at my new walls.
Right now though, the place is a bit of a shambles. The handyman’s stuff is still piled up everywhere because he is midway through his to-do list. Next project is a proper door for the bathroom instead of a squeaky concertina one.
The squeaky concertina one might be OK if I lived alone, but I share the apartment with an almost-20-year-old who keeps vampire hours, so it rattles all night long.
In other news, the youngest made spag bol and a huge pot of vegetable stock last night.
The eldest has a startlingly enormous new tattoo. I can’t show you a pic of that because of its location.
Charlie the Moodle has the runs. No one needs to see that.
My cruise mania was reignited when I read that Ponant is offering free airfares to Japan to discover the sublime landscapes of the subtropical islands of southern Japan. Did you have any idea Japanese subtropical islands looked like THIS:

I am intrigued!
And, because I am a drinks news tragic, I actually gasped out loud when I saw the news that Coca Cola is releasing an Absolut & Sprite RTD. Hold the front page!

There you go, you’re up to date on what ranks as a very quiet day in HouseGoesHome world.
