Yesterday the youngest was given early entry to the university she had her heart set on attending.
Woo hoo!!!!!
There were big hugs and congratulations all round.
But I am also a bit sad because it means she will be leaving home next year.
It has happened in the blink of an eye. One minute she was my little kewpie doll …

… the next she was an AFL playing glamazon …

I know they all need to leave home one day, but I’m not quite ready for it to happen.
It’s mind boggling that one day you are their primary carer and the next they are gone.
Although, on the upside it means that I can move into my apartment’s master bedroom and finally have an ensuite!
But if I had to choose, I’d rather remain in the tiny bedroom and have her stay under my roof for a few more years.
Luckily we have a week-long trip away together booked for post-HSC.
And she’s promising to come home and visit me once a month. I will have a bag of her favourite Bonfire Bread bagels and a heart full of love waiting.
