Falling apart

Forget the wheels falling off … my kitchen cupboard door fell off on Wednesday night and that was it for me. I was soooooooooo grumpy for the next 12 hours.

It literally just came off in my hands when I was unpacking the dishwasher.

I’m not entirely sure why I was sooooooooooo grumpy about it.

Was it:

A) The eternal lockdown

B) Menopause

C) My boyfriend watching the first two episodes of the third season of Brittania without me

D) The incompetence of my tradesmen or

E) A combination of all of the above

I’m going for “E”.

I cheered up slightly when a friend messaged that Drinks Digest had been quoted and hyperlinked by news.com.au in this article: https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/drink/coke-australia-has-entered-the-alcohol-market-for-the-first-time/news-story/3b9e1a82dcad82485610fe279d8d18c7

Ooooo-eeeer! I’m a SOURCE!

Unfortunately it hasn’t been the click fiesta that one might have hoped for – neither was one of my stories popping up in LinkedIn News the other week – but I’m playing the long game here … while I wait to win the lottery that I’m still not entered into … and every connection helps.

I was soothed yesterday afternoon by a Patrón Tequila tasting, hosted by Bacardi-Martini Australia Brand Ambassador Joseph Chisholm (that’s him below, with my head in the top left corner). We sipped Patrón Silver, Patrón Reposado and Patrón Añejo, then finished the session with a special taste of a rare, ultra-premium Patrón tequila called Burdeos, which retails for more than $1000 a bottle!

Oooooo-eeer all over again!

I could only have the tiniest of sips of the tequila because I needed to pick the youngest up from skateboarding in the park.

When I got home, I made myself a concoction with the tequila leftovers that I’ve christened Alana’s Paloma.

I mixed 30ml of fresh ruby grapefruit juice with 30ml of agave syrup and 30ml Patrón Silver, then topped it up with mineral water. Mmmmmmmmm yum!

OK, that’s another week almost done. They’re predicting a rainy weekend, but hopefully it allows for a few moments of fresh air. I’m planning to walk thousands of steps if I can. Have a good one.

Song of the day: ABBA “SOS”
