I didn’t mention the rats in my job interview! Winning!
Actually, yesterday featured a few wins. For example, I scored a contracting gig that starts on Monday and goes until the end of January.
Ace.
A few minutes after the phone call about that, a lovely distributor dropped off a Christmas present, followed closely by the delivery of one of the eldest’s big pressies.
Then I went to my second job interview of the week and I think it went pretty well. They seemed like lovely people. I told them that workplace culture is very important to me these days. I was there for an hour and the interview panel – four people – bombarded me with behavioral questions. I’m not sure I answered all of them properly as I find them a bit curly. I’d rather just be asked straightforward stuff about what I’ve done in my career that relates to the role but, hey, whatever floats your boat.
Afterwards I got myself some dodgy Taiwanese in a food court and did a little Christmas shopping, which was very successful. DD’s Santa sack is almost full. I was a bit stung by the Westfield parking though – it cost me $20 freaking dollars because I’d been there almost four hours.
Not very Christmas spirited.
I can’t believe I’m back in the office again, full-time, from Monday. That will be a shock to the system after being at home for nine months. Fortunately, skipping training and school will be over for the year, so my taxi duties will be minimal. But the dogs will be a bit bereft and the kids will be left to fend for themselves over the school holidays. Ah well, a girl’s gotta make a living.
Thank you to everyone who wished me luck over the past few days. I really appreciate your support and kind words.

Congratulations Alana! I start a new contract on Monday too! Also working in an office during school hols, and yes, a girl’s gotta make a living. Good luck with the new gig!
How funny that we both start contracts on Monday! Good luck with yours too!
Thanks Alana, mine’s going well so far, and I’ve got this week off. Back at work on the 4th Jan working from home for a week, then back in the office from the 11th. Hope you’re enjoying yours!
