So THAT’S what I needed

sleeping

I feel like I’ve been taking speed. Well, what I imagine taking speed would feel like, since my nickname used to be Operation Noah.

And I have one of my blog followers to thank for it. She’s been battling a startlingly similar insomnia to my own and gave me a tip back in April to try an over-the-counter remedy called Restavit. But for some insane reason I didn’t buy a packet until last week, while wandering up and down the streets of Marrickville waiting for my appointment with my solicitor.

Restavit is the BOMB. I’ve just eight hours a night for the past four nights and I feel reborn.

I’m taking a break from it tonight … deep breaths … but oh my giddy aunt, what a difference sleep makes.

I’ve spend the past four months in a fog. Each day has been stuck together with chewing gum, string and caffeine.

But I woke up yesterday morning buzzing with energy and excitement and joy.

It reminds me of how long I put up with feeling sick with my disaccharide deficiencies. Eventually you forget what it’s like to not be crook and feeling blah becomes the new normal.

Feeling exhausted had become my new normal.

There’s every chance I’ll slide back into 3am wake-ups soon enough (please, no!) but at least I know what the alternative feels like.

It feels GOOOOOOOOOD and life suddenly seems filled with infinite possibilities again.

Song of the day: Fatboy Slim “Praise you”

  1. Ooooo yeah, Restavit certainly does work! I can only take a quarter of one tablet otherwise I’m groggy all day!
And don’t you love the name? “rest – a vit” Makes it sound so healthy and natural when really its just an anti histamine.
