There’s this whole Beyonce obsession the world seems to have that I didn’t share until this week.

And then the Solange Knowles/Jay Z elevator biffo thing happened and I was swept into the most salacious celebrity bitch fight of the year … aside from James Packer and David Gyngell trying to punch each other’s lights out in Bondi a few weeks ago … speaking of which, love this from the Daily Telegraph …

My sister and I couldn’t stop talking about the reasons for the Solange/Jay Z fight over rice paper rolls at our local Vietnamese restaurant on Wednesday night.

What the hell is going on?

It really deserves a whole blog post in itself, but I’m short of time with all the house schmicking so here’s the potted version …

The Beyonce/Solange/Jay Z scandal went global on Monday when TMZ posted footage of Solange seeming to attack Jay Z in an elevator at a Met Gala after party.

Solange cornered her brother-in-law and threw punches and kicks, then a bodyguard hit the emergency stop switch in the elevator and tried to subdue her.

Why? There are claims that Solange furious that Jay Z “got too close” to designer Rachel Roy at the Met Gala, according to Hollywood Life.

Bizarrely, Jezebel then noted on Wednesday: “HMMMM, INTERESTING. Jay Z and Solange were spotted shopping for women’s jewelry together today—just the two of them—in New York City. What does it all mean!? Are they both in the doghouse with Bey and trying to win her back with piles and piles of tennis bracelets? QUESTIONS QUESTIONS QUESTIONS.”

The same day, Solange deleted every photo of Beyonce from her Instagram account (although she turned around and posted a childhood one yesterday). Beyonce responded by Instagramming four pictures of herself and Solange over the past decade.

Then, media sleuths noted that if you look closely at the recent images of Jay Z and Beyonce at a basketball game, it looks like she’s had the IV tattoo on her finger — which symbolizes her and Jay Z’s birthdays as well as their wedding date — removed.

This morning, Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange released a joint statement to The Associated Press on the incident, but it does little to solve the mystery.

Here’s what it had to say:

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.

“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false,” the statement continued. “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

A week ago, 13-year-old Willow Smith was spotted on one of Kylie Jenner’s Tumblr pages on a bed with half-naked 20-year-old actor Moises Arias. Her mum later dismissed the photo as “an expression of art”.

This week, a pic of 16-year-old Kylie straddling Willow’s 15-year-old brother Jaden on a bed has surfaced.

Wowsers have gone predicatably NUTS. Especially over his ecstatic expression …

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series was crippled by low ratings and had an expensive budget due partly to cast salaries.

Following the news, Robin tweeted a message expressing gratitude to the cast and crew saying: “Thanks for all the kind words. Will miss seeing @RealSMG @JamesWolk #hamish #amanda everyday … As well as to all the writers, Tracy, Jon, Tommy, Jody, David and one of the best crews in all of television. Love to you all.”
