Things got ugly this week in Charlie Sheen’s custody battle with his ex wife … but for me it was more about seeing sooooo many stars sporting extreme makeovers. Check out all my favourite Hollywood stories here …
>> Blonde bombshell Pamela Anderson, known not only for her va-va-voom curves, but her long platinum mane, is now rocking a totally style-transforming pixie cut. She appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show to explain why she ditched her signature flowing blonde locks. “I stole your haircut!” Pam joked. “I just thought, you know, my hair had had a life. And I wanted to kind of put that behind me and start fresh. And I thought it’d be good for the marathon. And it was.” Pamela ran the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 3, finishing the 26.2-mile race in 5 hours and 41 minutes.

>> Jennifer Aniston told Elle UK why she went for the chop: “My hair went through a phase – I did this thing called a Brazilian and my hair did not react really well to it. It’s about 2-inches above my shoulders now. It’s just choppy, like a choppy bob, I guess you could say…. I was just ready for a change. I was ready for something new, to get it out of my face, so I could have a bit of an easier go at it. The minute I cut my hair I want it back. Always. It’s a guarantee. I’m trying really hard to love this one.”
>> Jen was also widely dissed online for getting a cartilage piercing in her ear. She and friend Gucci Westman did some ear accessorising or, as Huffington Post describes it “apparently found a time machine so they could travel back to the ’90s and get matching cartilage piercings … What’s next? Running to the quad to grab your Cranberries CD before someone snags it?”
>> It looks like the pixie ‘do is the hot new trend in Hollywood. First Pamela Anderson, now Jennifer Lawrence has been spotted with the cute cut. The Hunger Games actress debuted her crop on her Facebook page, sharing the first look at her new do with her 2.5 million Facebook fans.
>> It’s common practice for celebrities to do subtle “maintenance” on their faces, whether it’s plastic surgery, Botox, lasers, or just crazy-expensive skin creams. Every once in a while, though, someone goes overboard. That seems to be the only explanation for Renee Zellweger’s new appearance. The photo on the left is Zellweger attending the 2001 Academy Awards, right before ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ hit theaters. And the photo on the right is Zellweger attending a screening of ‘Long Shot: The Kevin Laue Story’ on November 2. Enough said.
>> The stars of Laverne & Shirley reunited on the Nickelodeon series Sam & Cat. The official description for the episode is: “Sam (McCurdy) and Cat (Ariana Grande) are ordered to rename their babysitting business because it’s too similar to ‘Salmon Cat,’ a TV show from the ‘70s. Sam and Cat must track down the show’s two original creators (played by Marshall and Williams) and resolve their three decade-long feud.” The not-so-inside joke is that for years after Laverne & Shirley Williams and Marshall didn’t speak, but they’ve finally made up.
>> Thirty six years after it made its debut, the cast of the iconic TV series Love Boat have reunited on The Talk. Captain Stubing (Gavin McLeod), his crew – Bernie Kopell, Ted Lange, Fred Grandy, Lauren Tewes, and Jill Whelan – and recurring guest star Charo all appeared on on air to reminisce about love on the high seas during the decade long run of the series.
“I didn’t think we’d even get through the pilot,” Grandy, who played Burl “Gopher” Smith, confessed. “The first pilot that we did, we did over Christmas. So there was this tremendous feeling of, ‘Oh, the business is rewarding us with a Christmas cruise.’ But nobody thought it would go beyond that. I mean, as Gavin pointed out, the critics hated it. They said it would sink like the Titanic.
>> Denise Richards told the L.A. Department of Children and Family that she can no longer be Bob and Max’s guardian. In a letter to the agency – read it by clicking here – the actress described some terrifying behaviors that she could no longer tolerate.
According to Richards, the little boys would enter a “zombie-like state,” and go from nicely petting her dogs to hitting, kicking and strangling them. She says they told her, flat-out, that they wanted to hurt and kill the dogs. Even worse: her three daughters have been on the receiving end of Bob and Max’s rages. She claims that the twins have bit the girls, spit on them, kicked them, scratched them and punched them, among other frightening offenses. The problem extends to school, she says, where Bob has “harmed other kids” and “punched and slapped teachers in the face.”

>> Charlie’s outspoken comments lead the judge presiding over the custody case to slap him with a restraining order. The Anger Management star’s restraining order contains a gagging clause meaning that if he talks publicly about the case – or the boys’ mother – again… he’s off to prison.
>> In a segment on her show, Ellen Degeneres has surprised The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco by bringing in her fiancé, Ryan Sweeting, and orchestrating a quickie wedding for them on stage. Ellen brought out a show staffer who was recently ordained to officiate weddings and her boyfriend Ryan walked on set for an impromptu ceremony. Kaley laughed hysterically when her tennis-player boyfriend sheepishly asked: “This isn’t legal, right?”
>> Meanwhile Katy Perry got mock engaged. She accepted a marriage proposal from One Direction singer Niall Horan after the pair hooked up in Japan. Niall tweeted: “she said yes! It’s happening! Haha” after posting an Instagram selfie with Katy.
>> Reports by Star magazine that Aussie actress Margot Robbie has caused friction in Will Smith’s marriage were hosed down by People magazine. The pair messed around inside a photo booth together recently, but an insider tells People “the images simply show two friends goofing off – and nothing more.”
>> Tom Cruise filed court documents in his $50million damages case against magazines in the Bauer Publishing group that claimed he “abandoned” his daughter Suri. They included the assertions: “I also understand that defendants claim that Suri was ‘feeling abandoned’ during this time period. This is also patently false. While I’m sure my daughter misses me when I am not with her (as I miss her), she is a very happy child, and we have a wonderful relationship and cheerful phone calls. She has never indicated, in words or substance, that she has ever felt abandoned by me.”
>> Kristen Bell confessed to the December issue of Flare magazine that she felt no connection to her baby during pregnancy. “I kept saying to [husband] Dax in all sincerity during my pregnancy, ‘I just don’t know how I’m going to like her as much as I like the dogs.’ I was being serious. Because I f–king love my dogs; they are my children.”
In fact, those feelings didn’t immediately change after she gave birth to her daughter Lincoln, now 8 months old. “I love people the more I know them, and I didn’t know her. It could’ve been a water bottle in my belly, that’s about how connected I felt to her during my pregnancy,” she shares. “But within about 24 hours after she came out, my hormones reset, and they reprogrammed my feelings about her.”
>> Kristen also shared a pic of herself and Dax indulged her love of “Game Of Thrones” for Halloween by dressing as Daenerys Targaryen. Husband Dax Shepherd dressed as Khal Drogo.
>> He’s Thor no more … the 20 pounds of muscle Chris Hemsworth gained to play the superhero is gone and the actor is wasting away for his new project, Ron Howard’s latest film, “Heart of the Sea.” He revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that he’s been on a crash diet for the role: “[‘Heart of the Sea’] is the true events that inspired Herman Melville to write Moby Dick. A bunch of sailors in a whaling ship get struck by a whale, the ship sinks and they jump onto the small rafts and drift for 90 days. And basically they begin to die and eat each other … a romantic comedy,” he joked, continuing, “And we have to get rather skinny. So we’re on 500 or 600 calories a day.
>> Drew Barrymore officially announced she and husband Will Kopelman are expecting their second child. The actress, 38, already has a daughter Olive, 13 months. Drew has been hinting for months how eager she is to give Olive a sibling.
>> Everyone’s favourite TV personality, the irrepressible Ron Burgandy, is at it again. The always dapper anchorman broadcasted his warm wishes to Australians on Melbourne Cup day. Check out his address here.
