Celebs spent the weekend confessing, cussing and getting sacked … all the details here.
Alec apologises for his vicious rant
Predictably, Alec Baldwin has been forced to apologise for his recent Twitter rant after he was accused by a Daily Mail journalist of using social media during James Gandolfini’s memorial service.
Some of his tweets contained homophobic and threatening language, including: “I want all of my followers and beyond to straighten out this f––ing little b––, George Stark” and “I’m gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna f––…you…up.”
The Twitter account has since been deleted.
In a statement to GLAAD, Alec said: “My ill-advised attack on George Stark of the Daily Mail had absolutely nothing to do with issues of anyone’s sexual orientation,” he said . “My anger was directed at Mr. Stark for blatantly lying and disseminating libelous information about my wife and her conduct at our friend’s funeral service. As someone who fights against homophobia, I apologize.”
He also told Gothamist.com: “If what I said offended everybody, that obviously wasn’t my intention. I’m not interested in offending anyone. If homosexuality was an issue for me, I would have moved out of New York years ago. I find that laughable.”
Defending using the word “queen” he said: “I know women that act queeny, I know men that are straight that act queeny, and I know gay men that act queeny. It doesn’t have to be a definite sexual connotation, or a homophobic connotation. To me those are people who think the rules don’t apply to them. This guy could blatantly lie, I mean blatantly lie about my wife on the internet and there are just no rules that apply to him, but that’s outrageous to me.”
His Twitter account has since been deleted and it’s not the first time. In 2011 he signed off after Tweeting insults at American Airlines flight attendants who removed him from a flight for not putting away his mobile phone.
He joins celebrities including Ashton Kutcher, Adele, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato who’ve departed Twitter. (Click here for a full list, plus details about why they sent Twitter packing.) Need we mention that nearly all of them returned eventually, and continue to tweet up a storm today? There’s just something so addictive about offering up your brilliant thoughts to the world every five minutes or so!
The royal baby is here!
Who needs the royal bub when we’ve got Blue Ivy Carter? Beyonce has shared a photo of her tot on Tumblr wearing a purple, jewel-encrusted crown. In another shot, Beyonce is shown in full evening regala, while Blue sits in a stroller touching her mother’s nose as Beyonce.
Yep, totally adorable.
Taylor under attack
The group tweeted: “@TaylorSwift13 works her ‘girl next door’ country-singer shtick, while hopping from one young man to the next and strutting across the world stage like a proud whore.”
The WBC wants Taylor to redeem herself by tweeting something like: “Stop fornicating ladies, and obey God” to her 29.9 million followers, believing it would “rock the house.”
In an interview with RadarOnline, WBC member Ben Phelps – grandson of the group’s leader, Fred Phelps Sr – explained why Swift is their latest target: “This girl is a whore. Who else is gonna say that if it’s not the church of the Lord Jesus? She’s coming into our backyard. We’re gonna go preach to her.”
Channing sweet confession
Channing Tatum has admitted to chat show host Chelsea Handler that he had “crying fits” while wife Jenna Dewan was giving birth.
In fact, he was so overcome with emotion he had to leave the delivery room: “I probably went to the bathroom four times and had a crying fit. Like, I’m just like, `I don’t know what to do!'”
He added: “There is a real reason why God did not give, like, [guys] this ability to have babies. Because we would not be able to do it. You guys, I don’t know how you do it. It’s a real thing. It’s like National Geographic animal-style, for real. I don’t get it.
“It’s like someone’s hurting, someone that you love, and you can’t do anything about it. You physically cannot help.
“I’m still not helping – and the baby’s out! Men are useless, but we are really useless during this. The baby’s gonna come out whether you’re there or not.”
Channing also admits that while he plays a police officer who has to protect the President of the United States from attack in his latest movie, White House Down, he finds it way more terrifying being a dad.
“Well, I’ve never protected the president, but I have been a new dad, and I can tell you that being a new dad is pretty terrifying.
“I’m pretty sure that something about the president makes the stakes a little higher, but to me as a new father, nothing is more important or scary than protecting a daughter.”
Cher: Tom was an amazing lover
Cher has given her long-ago ex Tom Cruise a big thumbs up, describing him as being on her top five list of lovers.
During an interview on Watch What Happens Live she said: “I had just the greatest lovers ever. Not a long list. It’s just a good list.”
While she claims to have turned down Elvis Presley and Marlon Brando, her exes include Val Kilmer, Gene Simmons, Warren Beatty, Eric Clapton, Michael Bolton and Tommy Lee. But Tom was up there with the best.
“He was in the Top 5,” she insists.
When asked if one of the other four might be a woman, Cher admitted she’d had a lesbian fling, saying, “Oh God, who hasn’t? Yeah.”
But Tom remains the one who got away: “It could have been a great big romance, because I was crazy for him.”
Sandra’s dream man
Forget her leading men, Sandra Bullock only has eyes for one love – her three-year-old son Louis.
In an interview with German newspaper Bild, she calls him her “dream man” who is a “little dictator who determines my life.”
“My son Louis has shifted my priorities 1000 percent!” she adds. “When Louis came along I had nothing. I still would have dreamed, but now he is my only dream, to grow old with my son. I will love it to watch him grow. Every day when I wake up, I say that to myself.”
She describes her typical day starting at 5.45am, before waking Louis at 7am and making him breakfast.
“7:45 I drive him to school. Back home. Work-out. Computer. Phone calls. Back to school. Lunch,” she says. “Then: swimming class or anything else. Then it is time for a bath. He goes to bed and I’m going to bed. I have a very sexy life!”
New mums will so relate to this pic of Kim
Khloe Kardashian has posed a pic of her big sister Kim Kardashian napping on the couch following the birth of daughter North.
She captioned the pic: “I love my lil baby so much.” A reference to her boxer Bernard, not her sister!
Meanwhile, Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, told PEOPLE that Kim and Kanye West’s 13-day-old baby is “kind of a combo,” of both parents in the looks department.
5 Glee originals cut
If you felt Glee was getting a little complicated last season, with storylines taking place in Ohio and New York, you can breathe a sigh of relief (or horror) at the news that five original cast members have been cut for season 5.
Amber Riley(Mercedes), Dianna Agron (Quinn), Heather Morris (Brittany), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike), and Mark Salling (Puck) will not be returning, though may have guest appearances.
Their absences have been explained by Heather Morris’ character being accepted to college early (to accommodate her real-life pregnancy) and the four other characters having graduated at the end of Season 3.
Paris sends a message
Paris Jackson‘s biological mother, Debbie Rowe, has tweeted to her followers about her daughter’s condition: “My daughter has asked that I extend a huge thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers and support.” She then added: “She is strong like her father.”
I’m not sure that makes me feel entirely confident about her wellbeing.
