Every now and then the celebs manage to keep their heads down for a few days … fortunately I’ve managed to weasel out a few juicy tidbits about their weekend antics.
Rob & Kristen are OVER
A source has told PEOPLE magazine that Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have broken up.
But the source added they would not be surprised if the on-and-off-again pair got back together again.
The news follows reports that Rob pulled out of his 27th birthday plans, which has been arranged by Kristen.
A source close to Pattinson, 27, tells Us Weekly that the couple have been “having problems” and “fighting a lot” .
Cue distraught crying by the Twi-hard brigade. (I always thought it was very forgiving of him to gloss over her shag-fest with the director of Snow White & The Huntsman.)
Willow’s what the? moment
OK, so grey hair is the hot new thing in the celebrity world, but is it really appropriate on an 12-year-old?
Willow Smith attended a charity event in Los Angeles last week with her super-long pant legs, a super-small leather jacket and ashen locks. As usual, her fashion has our heads spinning.
Thank you Rihanna
It’s nice to know you can rely on Rihanna to brighten a dull celebrity weekend.
The singer posted a pic of herself in a robe, sunglasses and a short blonde wig.
She captioned it: “Just a casual day at the office.”
E! calls it – Beyonce’s having baby no.2
Surprise! Beyonce is pregnant again. According to a new report, the 31-year-old pop star is expecting her second child with husbandJay-Z.
E! News claims they have confirmation of Bey’s pregnancy, though she has not released any official statement about the news — just yet, at least. Rumors have run rampant about Beyonce’s potential pregnancy after she was recently forced to cancel a concert in Belgium. At the time, it was reported that the singer cancelled the show due to “dehydration and exhaustion,” but that often translates to “she’s pregnant!” in Hollywood speak.
It will be interesting to see how Beyonce comes out and shares — or denies — this news after E!’s report. After all, she has her Beyhive blog for just this reason. But can she top the way she announced her first pregnancy at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards?
Beyonce gave birth to her first child, Blue Ivy, on Jan. 7, 2012. During a recent interview with ABC News, Beyonce admitted to wanting to expand her family. “I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being big sister,” she said.
Zoe’s weight controversy
Allure wants to make sure that we don’t just know that Zoe Saldana has grit and heartache, but that we know she has precisely 115 pounds of it (that’s 52kg). You might wonder, if her grit and heartache are so compelling, why would Allure draw the attention away from them to her body size. Is it their goal to make sure that before we give a star props for who she is or what she does, we make sure to bring up how she looks? Also, how much of her weight is grit, and how much is heartache? Is she entirely comprised of grit and heartache, or does she weigh more than 115 pounds, or is the rest of her weightless?
If those questions seem ridiculous, how about the absolute ridiculousness of putting a star’s weight on the cover of a magazine?
“I don’t think it was to make an issue of my weight, I think it was to talk about that for a lightweight person, I seem to be really strong-minded,” said Saldana on the Today show. Because you know, usually, only heavyweight people can be strong-minded.
As if these celebrities aren’t under enough pressure. For extra fun, it’s on the internet and so commenters rushed to suggest that she’s lying about her weight — some claiming she ways more, some claiming that she’s less. Then there are those making declarations about her health based on her weight.
At 5’7” and 115 pounds, Zoe is very thin by every standard. That may be her natural size but it’s not attainable by many, many women who are 5’7” (170cm). And, in an age where anorexia is the most lethal of all mental illnesses, we don’t really need Allure to become another thinspiration site posting nude pictures of very thin women alongside their weight.
Zoe Saldana is a talented, successful woman who ostensibly has, in case you’ve forgotten, grit and heartache. She deserves better than to be reduced to a number on a scale. Then again, she doesn’t seem to mind.
Posh almost smiles, David sobs
David Beckham played his last professional game on Saturday, captaining Paris St Germain during the team’s final home game, and broke down in tears as he left the field.
Wife Victoria and children Romeo, Brooklyn, Cruz and Harper were there for the match.
He was tossed into the air by his teammates, before being joined on the pitch by his three sons.
In the lead-up to the match, Victoria tweeted a picture of herself with David, taken on New Year’s Day while on holiday in the Maldives.
With the tweet, the mother-of-four wrote: ‘Thank you for all your lovely messages, we are so proud of you David x vb’
She almost smiled for it, too.
Christy’s anti-surgery stance
Christy Turlington, 44, has told the June/July issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine she “can’t wait to be 50”.
She also said she will never have surgery, describing the latest procedures as “getting freakier”.
“Maybe there will be a time when you’re an oddball because you’re the only one left,” she said. “I’d rather be the only one, the sole survivor.
“And in that case? I’ll just wear turtlenecks all year-round,” she added.
During the cover shoot, photographer Dan Jackson said to Christy, “When you smile you look like you’re 16.”
Her reply” “And I’m like, `Yeah—and then there’s my neck.'”
As for the news she’s about to front a Calvin Klein Underwear campaign, she admitted being nervous: “You know, I’m 44 years old, I’m not 14. I’m healthy, I haven’t done anything to myself, I exercise. But I’m not entirely comfortable with myself in underwear either!”
Paris’ prom date
It’s been a tough few weeks for Paris Jackson but, judging by this Twitter picture of her dancing with a skeleton, she’s managed to keep her sense of humour.
Sadly at home there’s been turmoil, including a wrongful death lawsuit against the touring company that hired Dr Conrad Murray to care for her father, and 30-year-old choreographer Wade Robson claiming he was abused by Michael Jackson, even though he denied it during the pop star’s molestation trial in 2005.
