Jon Hamm‘s preference for going commando has been a topic of gleeful delight for gossip bloggers for years. Every time a paparazzi pic is taken, his impressive … physical characteristics … are displayed in sharp relief through his trousers.
And now The New York Daily News is reporting that he’s been ordered to wear jocks while filming Mad Men.
The story says:
An AMC insider tells Confidenti@l that during filming of the sixth season of the hit show — when the ’60s-style clothing was a tight fit — Hamm was politely instructed by a staffer at the network to please wear underwear while shooting his scenes.
“This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination,” a source tells us. “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear.”
Our insider says that during seasons one and two, AMC’s marketing team even had to do some Photoshop magic on promotional booklets that went out to press in order to make his privates more, well, private.
John’s rep was not amused when asked for an official comment: “It is ridiculous and not really funny at all. I’d appreciate you taking the high road and not resorting to something childish like this that’s been blogged about 1,000 times.”

Jessica Alba: mums need to stop judging each other
Jessica Alba, mother to daughters Honor Marie, 4½, and Haven Garner, 19 months, has written a book called The Honest Life, a family guide to living green.
While promoting it, she’s discussed her philosophy on parenting with People magazine: “When you become a mom, the last thing you want to do is feel judged because everybody is trying to do the best they can.”
“My girlfriend who is co-sleeping with her kids and may or may not be breastfeeding her 3-year-old shouldn’t hide that. She should be fine with that, and she shouldn’t feel judged. And then my friend who never even attempted really to breastfeed because it was too exhausting for her … she shouldn’t feel like she’s a bad mom.
“I have friends who literally are better parents when they are going to work every day for long days and they have weekend time or night time with their kids. I have other friends who cannot even imagine leaving their child for one second and need to be attached literally at the hip, and that is fine as well.”

After making a plea deal on Monday to spend 90 days in lock-down rehab, Lindsay Lohan has been booked at the Santa Monica police department, and posed for another mugshot – her sixth overall.
And doesn’t she look thrilled!
While in court, the judge reminded Lindsay that she can’t drive with any measurable amount of drugs or alcohol in her system, or without a valid license and insurance.
“A suggestion: don’t drive. You’re in New York. You don’t need to drive,” he told her. “This is it. You violate your probation and we’re not going to be having discussions about putting you back on probation.”
Miley’s ring is back on!
Miley Cyrus has posed for Twitter in a horse onesie. She pretends it’s innocent skylarking for the camera, but we’re guessing the real reason for the shot is to show her engagement ring is back on …
The singer sparked rumours she’d broken up with fiance Liam Hemsworth when she was spotted without her ring and he went on holidays solo to Australia. She eventually felt obliged to explain via Twitter that the ring was simply out getting cleaned.
Well, it’s looking as good as new … and hopefully her relationship is too.
Oprah: Meet my body double
Oprah Winfrey has revealed she doesn’t have time to mess around – so she always pays someone else to act as her body double when she does a photo shoot.
“Every photo shoot that happens, happens with a huge team, and I have a stand-in for every single set,” Oprah has explained in a behind-the-scenes video for her latest O magazine cover.
The cover was shot in Hawaii and a local called Shaka sat in for Oprah while the photographic team perfected the lighting and set up the shot.
Once they were ready, Oprah swapped into position.

Russell: marriage to Katy was a drag
Katy Perry can’t take a trick. First she reportedly breaks up with new love John Mayer, now Russell Brand has dissed their marriage.
Russell – who infamously climbed onto an elephant to exchange vows with Katy in India – has told a radio station: “That marriage was shaky from the get-go, before I’d even got off the elephant.
“It was a drag, man. Let me tell you a thing about marriage. Marriage is a bond that can last up to 14 months. It is a sacred 14-month arrangement.
“Begins on an elephant – ends in a newspaper.”
Who’s their daddy?
The Jackson family have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Michael Jackson‘s tour organisers, AEG Live, but TMZ reports that the singer’s children Prince, Paris and Blanket have asked the judge to exclude evidence pertaining to their paternity, arguing it’s irrelevant to the case.
The Jacksons are suing AEG Live for $40billion in damages, for its alleged negligent hiring and supervision of Dr Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the singer’s death.
But it’s the fact they don’t want information surrounding the paternity of his children made public that has everyone talking, with speculation it’s because Jackson isn’t their biological father.
In January, Jackson’s former dermatologist, Dr Arnold Klein, hinted on Facebook that he’s the biological father of Jackson’s 15-year-old son, Prince.
He posted a side-by-side comparison of Prince Michael and himself when he was younger, and wrote “hmmmmm.”
In April 2012 the singer’s former bodyguard Matt Fiddes publicly announced he was Blanket’s biological father, but his claims have not been confirmed.
