I hate to boast, but …

wide awake park

No, that’s a total lie. I intend to boast lavishly …

I am visiting here for a wedding in April.

The exact address is Wide Awake Park, Hollywood, South Carolina.

How romantic does that sound?

The happy couple have invited us “to join them on the banks of the Stono River as they vow to each other a lifetime of simple love and grand adventures.”

“Festivities begin with cocktails and yard games at three thirty. Ceremony at four thirty, dinner and dancing to follow.”

Oh. My. Giddy. Aunt.

I am so excited.

crosby's dock

There’s even a rehearsal dinner the night before at Crosby’s Dock, Folly Road, Charleston, South Carolina.

Just reading the words makes me buzzy.

The Sprogs are outraged that they’re not invited. But taking them would have meant another $4000 in airfares alone. So their grandparents are stepping up to the plate to babysit. God bless them.

seoul

Husband and I are doing a night in Seoul (the cheapest flights were with Korean Air) …

… and then three nights in Charleston.

Be still my beating heart.

A Southern wedding!

I am a lucky, lucky woman.

Totally worth redrawing on the mortgage for (she says, in a terrifyingly blase fashion).

Should I feel guilty about leaving the kids for 11 days?

  1. Can’t help but hate you just a little bit! But I look forward to the blog posts. I know almost nothing about South Carolina compared to other bits of the US. Should be wonderful!
