Yoko’s a groovy octogenerian
Its not the way most 80-year-olds would celebrate their significant birthday, but Yoko Ono marked the occasion by playing a gig with her son, Sean Ono Lennon, and the Plastic Ono Band in Frankfurt.
Guests on stage included Michael Stipe and Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright, who treated Yoko to renditions of Happy Birthday in English and German.
Yoko posted a photo of the concert (below) on her Instagram account with the message: “I think it’s better to dance rather than to march through life, don’t you?”
Martha Wainwright tweeted the following day: “Happy birthday yoko. Plastic ono band were amazing last night. She is a universal mother to us!(sic)”
