Mayim’s breastfeeding confession
Mayim Bialik – former child star of Blossom and current appearing in The Big Bang Theory – has announced she’s stopped breast-feeding her three-year-old son.
The actress previously shared the pic, above, of herself feeding him on the subway.
“Well, nay-sayers, prepare to be proven wrong. All of you snarky mamas who glared at me nursing my 3 1/2-year-old on the NYC subway, prepare to be amazed. And to all of my family and friends who wanted to chastise me about nursing a walking, talking, thinking, laughing little man named Fred, thanks for holding your tongues.
“Because we did it. Fred isn’t going to nurse on his way down the wedding aisle or at his high school graduation. I didn’t need to break him of a “habit” and teach him “who’s in charge.” I didn’t need to set boundaries you thought I should have set when I didn’t want to set them.
“Because we did it: Fred weaned.
“So just to sum up: I nursed Fred four to six times a night for three years. I pumped at work for Fred from the time I got the job on The Big Bang Theorywhen he was 18 months old until he was 3. I used La Leche League’s books How Weaning Happens and Mothering Your Nursing Toddler* to gently test his growth and maturity and set reasonable boundaries for him. I didn’t nurse him literally anywhere, anytime, but I made sure to meet his needs and have mine satisfied as well.”
Wow. Four to six times a night for three years. Really? Just … wow.

Plus-sized actress attacked by critic
New York Observer critic Rex Reed‘s review of Melissa McCarthy‘s new comedy Identity Thief has landed him in hot water, after he called her “tractor-sized,” a “screeching, humongous creep” and a “female hippo.” He also dismisses her career as a study in “being obese and obnoxious with equal success.”
The website was immediately flooded with horrified commenters, who accused him of being “offensive”, “vile”, “misogynistic” and “cruel”.
Melissa’s Bridesmaids director, Paul Feig, tweeted, “For his catty and school bully name-calling of the supremely talented Melissa McCarthy, I cordially invite Mr. Rex Reed to go f#ck himself.”
It’s not the first time the critic has insulted a woman’s appearance. His review of the first Sex and the City film insulted Sarah Jessica Parker‘s mole.
“There’s nothing wrong with Sarah Jessica Parker, that couldn’t be cured by wart-removal surgery,” he wrote. “That growth on her face just gets bigger with every close-up, and in the full-length movie version of Sex and the City it’s so distracting you can’t concentrate on anything else,” he remarked. “It’s not a beauty mark. I guess you can’t tell a co-producer anything, but listen up, girl. At this point, you would make a wonderful Halloween witch.”
P. Diddy multi-tasks
Being the busy entreprenuer that he is, P. Diddy doesn’t have time to faff around with his grooming. So it’s hardly surprising he’s tweeted a pic of himself “Gettin a Tat and Cut at the same damn time!! These n***** can’t multitask…ha.”

Paris’ famous aunty
You know, I’d totally forgotten Paris Hilton‘s connection to Elizabeth Taylor until I saw her tweet: “Vegas with our beautiful great aunt Elizabeth Taylor”
Liz was briefly married to Paris’ great uncle, Conrad Nicholson Hilton Jr. She’s also related to Zsa Zsa Gabor, who married her great grandfather Conrad Hilton at one point.
One big, happy family
They might just be Hollywood’s friendliest exes (after Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards) … Marc Antony and Jennifer Lopez have reunited – together with Marc’s girlfriend, Shannon de Lima, and Jennifer’s boyfriend, Casper Smart – at a birthday party for Marc’s son.
Jennifer tweeted a picture of her blended family, writing: ‘Happy Birthday Cristian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #houseparty #FAMILIA’.
Britney expands her family
Britney Spears has a cute new puppy – check out that sweet bow! – which she introduced to fans via her Facebook page over the weekend.
“Say good morning to my new baby people,” she wrote.
I wonder if this latest furry addition to her family will get its own Twitter account like Hannah, the pup she bought in November. Hannah Spears (@HannahSpears) has almost 40,000 followers and a devoted fan base that loves her quirky Tweets.
Tori’s breakdown
From the “stars, they’re just like us” files … Tori Spelling has shared a pic on Instagram of her family stranded after their car broke down.
She captioned it: “Four kids, one dog [and] one car leaking gas broken down on the side of the road. Not a great trip.”
The picture features Tori with sons Liam, 5, and Finn, 5 months, and daughters Stella, 4, and Hattie, 15 months, frowning in front of a wire fence. No sign of hubby Dean McDermott, but I’m presuming he took the unhappy snap.
Gisele’s little cutie
Gisele Bunchen has shared a photo of her two-month-old daughter, Vivian Lake, on Instagram.
“Love is everything! Happy friday, much love to all,” she captioned the gorgeous shot.
Lindsay to lose her family home
The New York Post reported on Saturday: “A process server slapped Lindsay and Dina Lohan with court papers yesterday — part of Chase Bank’s years-long battle to foreclose on their Long Island mansion, sources said.
“The server tacked the court papers on the front gate of the troubled star’s childhood house in Merrick, where Dina and Lindsay brawled in October.
“Nine days ago, Radar Online revealed that the Mean Girls star was forced to leave Los Angeles and bunk with her mom because she’s broke.”
The bank’s move is the latest in a long line of financial woes for Lindsay, whose accounts have been frozen due to owing $233,904 in unpaid taxes.

Chris Brown crashes car, blames paps
Chris Brown has smashed his Porsche into a wall while allegedly being chased by paparazzi.
According to his rep: “The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley, at which point he was cut off by two additional vehicles. Chris’ vehicle was totaled due to this aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi. He is okay.”
But the photo agency involved is disputing his version of events, saying they “had nothing to do with Chris Brown crashing.”
According to the owner of the agency, the photographers arrived after Chris crashed. He told TMZ: “No photographers were following him at the time he crashed … He crashed his car and it’s convenient for him to blame us. He needs to be careful with his defamatory statements.”
Another DUI for Hasselhoff family
David Hasselhoff‘s daughter, actress Hayley Hasselhoff, 20, is the latest member of the family to be charged with DUI.
According to Radar Online, she was arrested in late December, with Los Angeles prosecutors formally filing the charges on January 3. She faces up to six months in jail if convicted.
The Huffington Post recalls: “In 2007, her older sister Taylor recorded and uploaded a video of her father’s drunken rant while eating a cheeseburger, as she pleaded with him to stop drinking and uploaded it to YouTube. In 2009, the actor allegedly was rushed to the hospital and treated for alcohol poisoning on multiple occasions, though his reps denied the reports.
“Meanwhile, Hayley’s mom, Pamela Bach, was arrested twice for DUI in 2009 and 2010, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail and had to wear an ankle bracelet that detected the presence of alcohol in her system for six months.”
So, so sad.
